Oakland has simply taken over the county and will continue to dominate it as long as the Admin continues to support the program and give it what it needs to be successful. People forget that it is ACTUALLY the Principal who decides and dictates just how much will be done in order to win. Oakland made a GREAT decision when they hired Creasy AND gave him control on hiring coaches.

Coaches do not get final say on hiring teachers / assistants or what money gets approved to spend on facilities. (Turf / Indoor facility / weight room). Coaches don't decide a teachers schedule (Principal does that too). 

 

Oakland has the formula - anyone is free to mimic it - Are the powers that be willing to actually do what it takes to win? That is the difference. 

 

Just stating the obvious. Good luck finding any other school in most counties who will actually do what it takes to win and win consistently. They are becoming fewer and farther between.

Coach Tygard brought 11 coaches inside the building with him... so He did have some pull in that   and to say Blackman did not play a part in Riverdale not being a powerhouse is crazy... Blackman won 10 of the last 12 meetings... splitting the talent between Blackman, Riverdale, Rockvale and Stewarts Creek has impacted these programs without a doubt.

It did from the aspect of taking away Riverdale's depth. Rankin got out while the gettin was good

My point somewhat... When Blackman opened... Riverdale lost some talent.... When Stewarts Creek opened Blackman lost some talent as did Riverdale Eagleville and Blackman when Rockvale opened.

Which isn't as big of a deal now because the county continues to grow at the rate we've seen for the last 25 years. Talent hasn't been the problem for either Riverdale or Blackman, at least not consistently

No we have had talent, and lacked other areas... but our talent is not as deep as it once was.. It will take time to see it swing back that way.

As I recall, Aydelott has some very good teams up to 2014 or 2015.  Rankin has been gone 10 years by that time.

Yes he did, but no Blackman probably means that Riverdale isnt in Year 17 since their last title. 2011 was probably the last really good-great team Aydellot had

Yeah, went 9-4 in 2012 and lost to Siegel in the quarter finals.

I'm aware of that. Above Average- Good, but not better than '11. I did think alot of their QB (Woodruff if I'm not mistaken), he was tough as nails
