mondo44
According to the Williamson Herald and the Tennessean Donnie Webb has stepped down after 9 seasons. Good man IMO. That’s a good job in a brutal region. Edited January 12, 2021 by mondo44

He definitely stepped down on his own terms. I wish him well as he looks to spend more time with his family.
FridayMainEvent
Coach Webb is an awesome dude looking forward to more time fishing. That's a very tough place to win at with all the great teams in Williamson County. Add Summit to the region now...
wingman10
He has been there a while. Glad for him.
BoardHater71
Ravenwood Brentwood Franklin Independence Centennial Summit This region is loaded. Coach Webb is a great guy and a terrific football coach. Franklin's run to the Quarterfinals this past year was a great story.
cbg
I have been saying for 15+ years that Franklin High School should have one of the best athletic programs in Tennessee. They truly have the perfect mix of blue collar, middle class and affluent kids to put it all together. The question is if the administration "REALLY" supports athletics and wants to win or are they just willing to give lip service.

With all to respect, this is not an accurate description of the Franklin High School zone. Franklin High School consists of mostly upper class white kids. There are very few "blue collar" kids and even middle class kids. There is some talent, but nothing like Murfreesboro or even some of the other schools in Williamson County. Your description sounds more like Summit or Independence.

A coaching friend of mine calls it Grassland High. The zoning is horrendous in that county.
SurfingPatriot786
I agree with that. 5-10 years ago, Franklin was the place to be. After all the additional schools and big zone changes, Franklin is not as loaded as they used to be. They still get talented kids, but no more then Brentwood, Indy, Centennial, Ravenwood, or Summit now that they are in the region now. This is a tough job. Every week is a challenge. Franklin needs a really strong leader that is going to out X and O people. Best maximize what their best athletes can do. To be clear. I’m not saying the previous staff did not do these things. Donnie Webb is a darn good football coach and ran a great program built on integrity and high class.

I would also add the fact that they have extremely entitled parents with unrealistic expectations. I would also throw Centennial in with Summit and Indy as far as diversity, hard working middle class kids as well. Not sure what the issue is there. Have heard like Franklin there is weak leadership at the top but I do not know that for sure.
