“Dalton (Ga.) High has called an afternoon press conference for today where they are expected to promote longtime assistant & defensive coordinator Kit Carpenter to HC. South Pittsburg’s Vic Grider was the other finalist but was told yesterday he was not the choice. ”

I'm sure that Coach Carpenter deserves the position, as long as he has been with the team. Great for him. Not sure if Vic is staying at SP, but it would be nice for us loyal alumni and fans of SP for so many years to know what's going on. Also the player's deserve to know who there going to be playing for.  If he's staying he needs to come out and say so, if not, lets move on. It's not something that needs to be kept under national security,

Vic will still resign I am hearing. You're right it would be beneficial to have some certainty for the kids.

Word from my son is Coach Grider is coming back next year. That was what he came home from wt training today saying. They all know who will be coach if he doesn’t stay. Wagner has been only coach doing all the workouts and kids love him. So time for the Grider haters to move on ..

I'm not a Grider hater. I hope he stays actually. I do know that there are some that want him to step down (especially after the state game) and there are some that have asked for Jones to come in. Just telling what I hear and I have no reason to doubt them.

Wagoner is not the answer...plus he will up and leave after a few years. His Twitter profile picture he is still in his TC coaching polo. That is where he wants to be.

Grider doesn't want to be there anyomore,with his personal situation he may have to stay longer than he wants.Grider has been asked to hire Jones but if they do Wagner is gone.You all have a soap opera going on down there NO DOUBT!And yes after the state game Grider knows his time is up by the way your fans have went after him.PP68 has the right info!!!

From the outside looking in I would say Wagoner was a great coach who was big on discipline.... something TC folks weren’t fond of!
