Final 8 imo:

Substate 1: tellico Plains and Oneida

Substate 2: Clarkrange and Clay County (Pickett County, Van Buren or Huntland could very  easily knock one of these off...toughest area by far this year IMO as far as the number of teams that could make a run)

Substate 3: Summertown and Loretto (honorable mention mcKenzie...could play with Loretto but experience wins out)

Substate 4: Gibson County and Greenfield (honorable mention Peabody..again playoff experience wins out)

Someone is going to have to come play the Region 4 A Champs.  Has not been easy the last 2 years making that trip and if you have to go to Huntland it is an even longer trip and they play well at home.

I think the Region 4A champion has a chance at home but will still be an underdog. The runner-up going to Clarkrange however is a totally different story. No one gets out of that gym in a substate with a victory. Most of the time it’s not even close.

Clay County/ Clarkrange. Gotta stay away from Clarkrange. Huntland will be tough to beat if they get to host Sub State.

Clarkrange is as good as their posts staying out of foul trouble.  Monday twins are as advertised (if not better).  If the posts stay out of foul trouble they can beat anybody  (including stone, a triple a team expected to make state) by 20+. Rogers is a legend and has the talent (if you don’t make him have to dig too deep in his bench). Btw Stone beat them by double digits when the buffaloes got in foul trouble (so you never know).

20+. Might be a stretch but they are a good team I could see upperman beating them by 20

Yeah I wouldn't put much money on that. There are 4 or 5 teams in Districts 1, 2, & 3 better than Tellico.

I mean it's plausible they beat Sunbright at home, but they aren't getting a win at Oneida, or at NG/Cloudland/Cosby for substate.

This season Stone beat Clarkrange by 1 with a missed shot by Clarkrange with only seconds to go and a chance to win. Stone beat Clarkrange by 4 in the other loss to Stone. Only double digits loss between the two was when Clarkrange beat Stone by double digits

I would have to disagree with that. District 3 is really down this year, Wartburg finished second and Tellico has already beat them by 30 at Wartburg. And I usually don’t have much faith in Tellico but there better this year. NG is the best team in the east followed by Tellico and Oneida, I would have Cloudland behind those three. Cosby barely beat a bad Greenback team.
It will come down to NG vs Cloudland/Cosby and Tellico vs Oneida for the region titles. I’ll take NG and the winner of the Tellico vs Oneida to make it to state.

Yep Clarkrange played them three times. Clarkrange has played some tough teams in AAA. Their losses all probably helped them as a team.

    • It’s not hearsay, just patently false. As one of those young coaches he apparently “ran off”, coach never once ridiculed or degraded anyone. Sure he challenged kids and coached them very hard,  but we have different definitions of you call that degrading. Coach Hammontree changed my life when he gave me the chance to work for him. I learned more about being a man and caring for the people around me in 4 years working for him than I did in 20 years of my life. No one sacrificed more than he did. I left Heritage because I felt there would never be the support necessary to help the program succeed. I’m tired of hearing people drag others down especially those they truly don’t know. Coach has moved on and a new coach is there. Just let the man live and root for the team.
