York vs Upperman

Would love to know how the 30 to 28 York victory occurred. Intentional delay? Poor play? Low FG percentage?

Maybe someone who attended can shed some light.

I called the game for the Upper Cumberland Reporter.

 

It was simply a tremendous defensive game between two great teams that know each other very well. No easy shots on either end, and the refs let them play very physical.

The refs let them play defense without a foul call every second. As a Upperman fan, I didn’t like the outcome but it was an epic game. They should show a video of this game and show it to all officials across Tennessee.

At least they didnt throw out a kid for an inadvertent trip like they did to Randolph of Monterey.   Unbelievable call in such a high-stakes game.  It occurred in the first 6 minutes of the game and doomed Monterey from the beginning.   That ref should never call a game again.

Fact Check: 3 minutes to go in the second quarter was when it actually happened, and judging by the video, it certainly was not "inadvertent."

 

But aside from those realities, carry on.

Fact Check: Must be able to read minds as well as watch video. I have watched the video 30 times and it doesn’t look intentional to me. Also, since you can obviously watch video continue watching the film and you will see the same young man the fell during the incident, laying on the ground and intentionally swiping at the legs of 2 Monterey players trying to trip them and he did not get ejected. I don’t expect any less though when entering the gym at Pickett County.

Fact Check:  Pickett County has too many coaches on the sidelines, I'm sure J. Amonett and his brother know more than you.  If I'd been him, I wouldve told about four of you to go sit down and let me coach.  Watch the Video again you wannabe.

I think you must be Mr Football for Pickett County because every parent that I have talked to from Pickett County agrees that it was nothing to be ejected for. I am positive if the call had went against one of Pickett Counties better players then you would disagree with the call. But calls seem to always go in the favor of Pickett County when you are playing there. I remember a couple of years ago watching Pickett play in the District Tournament and saw one of their players throw and land a punch and he was not ejected from the game nor was a foul called
