Another thing bout Jen / her great gran whom she loved dearly passed last nite  ( boy when rains it pours )

She didn’t look like her ribs were hurting against Clarkrange. Y’all handled their pressure really well. In fact Clarkrange struggled with your pressure quite a bit. Sorry to hear about her Great Grandad. I will be praying for her!!

I think Summertown gets it done. They are better at every position except Karli Weathers. I suspect Burdette will be the difference. Hoping Jenna is ok and that she is able to win one for great grandma. That may be her biggest motivation to heal quickly and play well.

Summertown running on fumes after playing 2 tough nosed teams / think we’re in there mind a little after 3 wins over them / should be a finals class

Y’all are 8 deep. Burlson hadn’t had that many minutes and the back up PG played well today. The other sub with the black pony tail is solid too. I think Summertown will be good. Campbell and Jones will be fine. Hope Brasier gets better. No doubt the bracket y’all had is brutal, but y’all know how to play them as much as they know how to play y’all. I think first one to 50 wins, maybe 45. This is going to be a brutal defensive war.

A little added bonus. These same two schools just played in the State Volleyball Championship as well. A lot of the same players from both schools play both sports. Summertown won all 7 meetings in volleyball which included District, Region, and State title. Now here we go again. Unbelievable to have two schools from same District and County playing each other for one State Title much less 2 in same year. With Summertown winning all 3 contest this year in basketball as well, I would say Loretto is more than due. And will be highly motivated! I think Summertown is the better overall team but just came through a very hard bracket. Add that to just the odds of trying to beat a good team over and over tips the scales to Loretto in my opinion. We will soon see. Either way hats off to both  schools and an amazing bunch of athletes!

Also, on the floor these two teams do don’t like each other. Off the floor many players are friends with some even growing up playing summer ball together. It’s cool and crazy all at the same time.

I see a major defensive war on the horizon. I watched Loretto and Summertown at Loretto in one of their games. Every basket Loretto made was well earned. Summertown matches up with Loretto really well. Jones and Campbell can flat out play defense. We just seen what they did to the Monday’s and they are great players. This is for the Gold Ball!! Nothing will be easy!! Baskets will be hard to come by. 40 may win this game.

    • From my understanding, Jay Graham pretty much took over HC responsibilities in that game, so you can thank him. Cute Andy didn’t need help, though. Cute Andy could’ve beaten us without any assistant coaches.
    • Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach.  There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now.  I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan.  Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there.  There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County.  Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first.  It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
    • This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
    • yeah money aint right there anymore
