They definitely put all the good teams out west this time. Too bad they didn't let Fayetteville go to the east and balance it up.

After hosting the Football State Championships for several years, Murfreesboro realized it really didn't have the sales tax implications they wanted. Most fans/students are in and out with their team's game. Unlike Spring Fling and the Basketball State Championship where fans stay multiple days and create sales tax revenue, the football championships does very little to impact the local economy for a city the size of Murfreesboro.

 

Long story short, the headache was too big for a bottom line that was so small.
