It seems like that was one of the deciding factors. The first playoff games the semis were at Dayton for the east and the finals at Beardon HS in Nashville. The next year it was played at MTSU. It must have moved to Nashville from Murfreesboro

Rhea Co. and Nashville Overton played at Vandy in 81. But that was only because Overton was to host and their stadium wasn’t large enough. Some schools got to play a state title game on their own field. South Pittsburg hosted Brentwood Academy in 1974.
Jobres76
Huntingdon could host. Nice facility, turf, everything to ask for. It's not used that time of year anyway. As far as who will be playing for 1A, Peabody VS tossup. I don't feel there is a clear cut in the east right now. And nobody should have to be a visitor in a state final. Here in Georgia, for years the semifinals were played in the Georgia Dome, while the finals were played on campus (this was a compromise between North Georgia schools, who wanted the finals in Atlanta, and the South Georgia schools, who wanted nothing in Atlanta. Plus, this format allowed more kids the chance to experience playing in the dome.) The last few years the finals were on campus they had more and more problems. Everything from overcrowding, to crowd control. One veteran coach, whose team lost as the visitor the last year games were played on campus, told the AJC “I guarantee you that if we had won, we would have had to fight to get out of that stadium alive!”
