You had a number of very capable coaches there. One was a completely new hire from Florida. Not part of the previous regime. He left also...after only a couple of months. No doubt. I know nothing about the new coach so I'm not gonna make assumptions just because he hurt some feelings.
VarsityBlue
When 7 experienced coaches leave it's not about hurt feelings my friend.

So there are a lot of things to take into consideration. I for one have sat through practices, scrimmages, been part of the booster club, and been to all but 3 games in the last 10 years. That said I watched attitudes, behavior and sportsmanship drop year over year for the last 3. I like and know everyone of these coaches, but as" capable" coaches where was the leadership that was lacking from the program. It is not the head coach's sole responsibility to hold the player accountable, demand respect and or drive each player to his best . That falls on every single coach on staff. I say that, to say, that leaving or being asked to leave, doesn't really matter. Being a coach is not a volunteer position, it is a job. If I don't perform my job to my bosses standards or expectations , I can expect i will get to do one of those things. I watched players walk off the sidelines last year and go talk to family in the bleachers. I watched kids throw fits and slam doors and quit, only to be playing again the following week. That wasn't a Coach Hartsfield issue , that was an entire staff issue. As far as high school football coaches go in my 50+ + years I never met a great coach that didn't already think they were to some degree. It will be a rough season, but I am curious to see who comes in and fills these spots and what the end result looks like. This will be one of two things . A great turn around or a terrible disappointment. I will still be pulling for them either way.

Experience doesn't mean good. If the HC wants to rip the band aid off and start fresh, that's his prerogative. There ae some talented backs, and a pretty good line. I don't see the talent pool I have seen in years past, but hope to be surprise with some of the freshman sophomore class... I have heard good things but not seen them play much.

VarsityBlue
Let me be clear here. A head coach has his prerogative and he is entitled to use it. But just because you can doesn't mean you should. We are talking about young people here. Good men who did good work have chosen to take their abilities elsewhere. This isn't just about winning games. It's about raising young men of character. The fact that so many capable people chose to move elsewhere in such a short time should be cause for concern. That's all I was saying here.
VarsityBlue
The guy from Florida has already landed somewhere else. Another coach that left got a head coaching job somewhere else.
workinprogress
So again what has been unprofessional? Specifics? Also where did the coach get a head coaching job? Must not be in TN or it hasnt been announced yet. No idea of new coach. I thought Kit was a good guy and coach but obviously that wasnt enough for some. Be careful what you ask for.
