Chancery Deane is a tough kid as well....not sure where he is going but the kid can wrestle.

Never know which team has the best incoming class bc you never know how old the kids are/if getting held back or actually where they are going to school.

What does how old the kids are have to do with who has the best incoming class or if they are held back? Or are you just trying to start stuff?

I am saying kids getting held back is VERY common now. So just bc they are in the 8th grade does not mean they will be moving on to HS.

For example- The best 8th grader in TN, Cooper Hilton, will not be in 9th grade next year. He will repeat.....from what I hear.

Therefore, hard to say which team has the best incoming Freshman group.

I'd put these Freshmen names in the hat from TNAAU Region 1 as ones to watch next year in HS.

Mason Jakob (Kingsport DB), Cole Gumlick (Lakeway), Cameron Helton (???), Jordan Sexton (Halls), Hunter Sturgill (Heritage), Riley Lee (Maryville), Brody Casto (Heritage), Max Norman (Kingsport DB), Harlen Hunley (Halls), Wyatt Howard (Pigeon Forge), the Ferrells (Crockett), Ricky Reyes (Pigeon Forge)

All but 2 of these kids wrestled on the Region 1 All Star team that dominated the other region dual teams this year. Had Sexton and Howard not been hurt it would have been even worse. There may be some others I've left off since I'm not sure about their grade level, but this group is pretty solid.

Crockett will have three Ferrells on the team next year.  Two freshmen and an Junior.  The junior is a solid wrestler and really coming into his own, should have a monster year.    Their dad is going to have the time of his life watching three boys wrestle.  Couple that with a solid incoming heavyweight freshmen whose name now alludes me.  Heavyweight is tough as a freshmen but he could be one to watch down the line.

The Heavy was a 220 this year (Naredo). Gabe is a good one though and Larry does have his hands full.

    • From my understanding, Jay Graham pretty much took over HC responsibilities in that game, so you can thank him. Cute Andy didn’t need help, though. Cute Andy could’ve beaten us without any assistant coaches.
    • Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach.  There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now.  I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan.  Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there.  There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County.  Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first.  It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
    • This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
    • yeah money aint right there anymore
