The only private school is Brentwood academy  I can think of off the top of my head. I'd be surprised if all wilco  schools don't have turf they ought to be able to afford  lol

Look again. I took the top 15 from Sonny Moore and put them in a Google Sheets. BGA is a private school in Franklin, TN.

If the Privates and Public in Williamson and Davidson give back the players they Poach from Rutherford, things go back to advantage Rutherford again.

Poach?  That's funny, I don't care who you are.

Why exactly do you think these players leave (by their own choices) Rutherford county to play in Williamson and Davidson county?  This might be a shock to some of you who read this but there is a lot more to high school than just football.  I would say these players are making life improvement choices and admire them for taking the tougher road.

Ahhh yes, for the academic excellence they are going to receive. Puuuuleeease.... I know a few of these athletes and their parents. They didn't get any great academic training. In fact they struggled through the basics and got passed along with grade recovery and special BS extra credit assignments. These kids went there because they were going to help programs win.  Remedial math is remedial math no matter how you want to dress it up and polish it.

I know thats the plan but I personally don't believe the field will be done by graduation based on what i have heard, but we shall see.

Are you speaking for every student who left RuCo for better opportunities or just the ones you are bitter about?

I don't care where they go, but you speak as if they are going to be gifted some academic  opportunity that propels them into some educational greatness. Truth is they aren't in most cases no better prepared for college than they would be attending any other public school. If I recall the last time you were talking about RuCo football or schools it was when your beloved Brentwood was going to put the smack down on Oakland.

    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
    • Word is Jason Maxwell will be new AD - he is currently head baseball coach. Also heard Roc might be headed to Pope as an assistant coach.
