How is his name not all over these threads?  This kid is having a heck of a year for Summertown!

Very good question. He is one of the best ballplayers to ever play at Summertown and definitely the best since Bryce Giles, who by the way is killing it for the reigning national champs Tennessee Wesleyan. Grant has a sweet stroke and  always gets the barrel to the ball. He's also a very good pitcher and it will be fun to watch him this postseason.

That whole team is good not to take anything away from Grant at all, he is a very good player. Drake Blackwood is one name I can’t forget because he hit 2 bombs against us in both games we played them that have still not landed. Best Summertown team I’ve seen in a long time and they’ve had some really good teams.

    • Yea, they have Davey quaking in his boots. Someday they'll even have a winning season.
    • Guessing this may have been the closest I can think of...... Bill Harlow: (from wiki) After leaving OSU, Harlow went on to win three national titles in freestyle wrestling.  He won a silver medal at the 1970 World Wrestling Championships, falling to Soviet Gennady Strakhov in the finals at 90 kg.
    • The Simpson brothers had good freestyle careers.

    • Maybe some of the historians can get on here and help me out, but has anybody from Tennessee ever had as much success in an international style as Boykin? The only other Tennessee native I can remember competing for world team spots is the older Boykin in freestyle and he wasn't nearly as close as Nick has been to making world teams.
