Least you are playing with actual home grown kids King.

Thank you.  We are.  Not taking anything away from grandviews kids.  Parents and coaches come together to make these super teams.  None of those kids will be playing 1a ball in high school and I doubt they even stay together.  These 8th graders at cland will be a state threat in high school.  At one point,  we were down only 6 in the 3rd quarter and we missed 10 foul shots.

North Greene girls starting to figure things out. Wins this week against a good West Greene team and a talented Northview team. This team is starting to figure things out on the offensive side and they always play well on the defensive side. I believe this team is starting to become the team that most were expecting them to be with another big challenge on the road at Grainger on Monday.

Very well could be especially at WG...Anderson started practicing this week so she should be back by Ladies Classis I would think. I am sure she won't be to much of a weapon until January though.

How do you know she is practicing again already? Did you hear that or actually see it?

Starting to see a couple more players become offensive threats adding on to the ones they already have. Very disciplined defensively. Good to see them get some good wins to get their confidence back up after some of the beatings they’ve taken. Curious to see how much better they’re gonna get as the season continues.

Family friend is involved with the basketball program. I do know her baby got sick recently and that has put basketball to the side for now. Not sure how serious or anything like that, but she is not planning on playing very soon.

Looks like they're doing fine without her.  I got to watch cland for the first time last night.  Ella Benfield and Isabella christman are absolute monsters under the rim.  I really like their defense.  They are a power and transition team this year. Not very good outside shooting but playing ball pressure will make them a threat to the other 3 district teams

Yes everyone is starting to get involved on the offensive end the last couple of games and they have played well and looks like they are playing with a lot of confidence right now. If they can go win on the road at Grainger Monday night that would be a huge boost of confidence heading into the Christmas break.

Cloudland is a talented team and a very well coached team and I expect them to be in the mix with NG, Unaka, and Hampton. I’m a NG fan but I have a ton of respect for coach Birchfield and the Cloudland program. Our teams always know they are going to have to play their best to have a chance to win any time we play them. I think the District and Region tournaments should be really fun to watch again this year with these 4 teams.

Same here...should be a really good year for the conference. Any of those 4 teams could beat one another on a given night.

    • The winds of change are blowing in Hartsville.     Will be an interesting follow.    Would go back to the 90s and turn black the clock!
    • Did he promise you a coordinator job or something if he ever got a head coaching job? He resigned? He was at the top of the dugout last night calling plays. I wonder if those 30+ parents would let him give their kids a ride. by the way the board meeting was last night and it was not mentioned. must have been at the work session earlier this week which is not public. must be trying to keep it quiet.  Since you know so much, how much is Robbie Atwood willing to pay Adam Cothron?  Didn't you slander Eden earlier on here? You also didn't know he was a faculty coach again so how much do you really know? Some people outside this county baffle me with their need to slander others.
    • He resigned smh, and have you ever heard of charged but not convicted. Some people in this county baffle me with their need to slander others. Have you asked any of the 30+ parents that signed a petition to get him reinstated at the board meeting this week how they feel about this? Just let it play out, at the end of the day the only people that will bring TC back are the ones that know what its about at its core.    People hate losing and they aren't used to it at TC. I for 1, and I'm sure others too, understand having a dip in talent and not being able to compete for a state title every year. But in the past, TC teams have outworked more talented teams, they didn't continuously lose the turnover battle, they didn't commit 8+ penalties in several games each season, and I believe several of the folks in town that want Blake out feel as if he is neglecting the history of the program. This is from a source that used to be extremely close to the program (not me lol), Blake gets out of school midday and the players show up and there is no practice plan or itinerary.  I also understand those that are on team Blake, when he has loads of talent, he wins. He does know football and he is a tremendous DC, and if the rumors are true then he will do great things. As for the board member issue, it is what it is, everyone that's true to the county know that and nothing has changed. I agree though that they should strive to make the facilities as good as we can. And as far as potential candidates, I agree there is very few options. West, Vetetoe (yes I know), and couple others that could have some interest. Whatever happens is massive for the program during a pivotal time before the next big wave of stars make their way through.
