Thanks! Old man dosen't have twitter.:-D

Ha me either. I had seen it on their website the other day. Pretty cool for 3 of our guys to be in the top 18 players of 2023. Powell has 3 guys in the top few spots as well. Wouldnt suprise me to see HC/Powell in State the next 2 years.

Yes sir, heck of a ball game! There will be no doubt about it, this years team will have went through a tough preseason and very tough regular season. If we can stay healthy for the most part, I think this particular group will at least be in the semifinals with an opportunity to play for a championship. Anybody heard anything else about the football field? Getting a little nervous if they'll have it done by August or not.

This was in the paper about a week ago. I heard they had to dig out way more than they expected to because it was so wet.

WILL SURFACE BE READY IN TIME?

Construction work began earlier this spring to replace the natural turf playing surface at Patriot Stadium with artificial field turf. Wet, rainy weather has delayed the project and many fans have been concerned about the availability of Bill Hudson Field for the opener with Summit.

“I don’t think there are any worries about it being ready for the season opener. We have had a particularly wet spring that has the project a couple of weeks behind, but they are getting in some good work. Once the drainage is in place where it can drain itself and some gravel is down where they aren’t working in mud, things go pretty quickly,” said Counce.

He said he hasn’t been given an exact date the work is expected to be completed, but believes everything will be in place by the time the Patriots host MBA for the Aug. 6 scrimmages.

“We are very excited about that project being completed and very excited about working with this football team. If we are able to get in the work that we need, we believe this could be a real special team for our fans to watch this season. The new playing surface will give Patriot Stadium a different look and we think fans are really going to enjoy attending our games. We are just ready to get out from under the COVID-19 restrictions and get everything back to normal in the way we play football and that includes our ability to have a full stadium for our games,” said Counce.

    • You defend your little buddy bsatt like it’s the end of the world just as much. Why don’t you go on to Upperman with him this summer… you know he is your “BEST MAN”.
    • No sir. Not staying at East. But definitely not going to Elizabethton.
    • Football and basketball coaches should not be making 100,000 not teaching any classes unless their winning state championship every year lol
    • Im sure Nick Saban didnt have the final say at Alabama! That was not one of your brightest statements. How can you be that uneducated about football and blog about football? Its fair to name people who get arrested, its part of the consequences of their dumb mistakes as adults. You talk mess about the satterfields for way less. Are you that guys lawyer? I have never seen somebody defend someone so hard for something that could have been catastrophic.
