I'm not trying to stir the pot, just making a point of how some coaches treat their middle school and JV games (dating back to the post you or another Peabody fan made to the USJ fan. There's like 5 Peabody people on here, so I couldn't pick out specifically on who did it).

But Middle School and JV games are devalued and here is why. For Middle School, some kids are bigger, taller, and stronger than others. Some hit puberty, while others haven't. So, the Middle School QB may be the QB, probably because he's the best "athlete" on the field. He's going to be the QB until his speed, reading the defense, arm strength will determine if he is the QB for the high school team. There are so many potential position changes from middle school to high school, because that's when a lot of the kids had already hit their puberty, and may outgrown the middle school players. Huntingdon fans always claimed they had one of the best Middle Schools teams in West Tennessee. How did they workout for them at the High School level? Didn't mean anything.

Second, open enrollment. Kids that attend schools in McNairy, Madison, Dyer, and I'm positive Obion Counties all have open enrollment. So even though one kid might attend Dyer County's feeder school, doesn't mean he will be a Choctaw. He could always flip to Dyersburg for some reason.

High School coaches do not watch JV film. There may not even be a videographer filming the JV game. JV games are more of a "get your reps in and stay healthy." The JV running back player is not going to take the varsity's position just because he is dominating JV ball.

Two more things: I'm not trying to stir the pot, and I'm not a Union City poster

These guys are bragging about winning a 7v7 :roflolk: against a 1a team. They dont care to much for 7v7 in Trenton

I’ve yet to meet a coach (myself included) that didn’t hate 7 on 7. A program that I used to be with in Georgia ran the Wing-T. We joined 40 or 50 other teams every year at a 7 on 7 tournament at a university, and won the thing most years. Then, we would attempt like 8 passes during the regular season.

I feel your missing the points about player development , we agree on 99 percent of what you said but I know our staff is all VERY envolved in JV ball! Not saying all are but look at our resume”maybe they should be “! I sure thought you had been on UC threads for years  !

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • I have a sophomore that can do 177 (preferred) or 192. Sent you an email.
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
