Well a win is a win. No matter how ugly. I think the erratic center play even messed up our kicker tonight with those two missed fgs.  Lot's of work to do. Just glad to get the win. Sequatchie in for a long season.

Some of these young guys who want to get on the field. Well guess what here's your chance. Grab the ball and work all weekend

Heard this guy wasn't even top ,3 choice. They've got some in fighting going in in sc

First I've heard.  You have to keep in mind for Sequatchie it's a completely new system for those kids on both Offense & Defense and they haven't had a lot of time to work.

Tonight marked Coach MacIntyre's 60th day (50 if count that he was hired days before the Dead Period started) on the job and the 33rd day for new DC Coach Gilley.

Coach worked a lot of underclassmen into the game in the 2nd half.

I think Coach MacIntyre will do good things at Sequatchie.  Absolutely beautiful upgrades to the facilities also.

Final thoughts: Coach Jones likes to play a lot of players. No more beating teams by 60 for the Pirates. He’s about getting the young guys reps.

Line overall wasn’t terrible…but snaps were.

Defense played gutsy and hard all night. Sequatchie just doesn’t have an offense to test. The defense will get a huge test next week.

Special Teams: Kicker made a fg but then also kicked some duds.

Good win. Improve each week

As the great Coach Summit said Right foot, left foot, breathe and repeat.

Dad and I watched the game last night and agree with you 100%...SP has some work to do but with the new coach I think they will do fine.

    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
