Personally I thought there were a few too many penalties called on Covington throughout the game. As far as the big one though, I just don't really see many refs not calling that. I would've made the call myself for what it's worth. If you think you can do better please contact the TSSAA, I'm sure they'd love to have more refs. On another note, It was nice going to a big game like that and having no affiliation either way. Saves on stress lmao

Have you seen the replay? I’m asking since you are a mutual fan. I know you said you would have called it but to me it looked like the kicker slipped. Just my opinion. I am a Covington fan and not making any excuses for the loss. We made to many mistakes. Second week in a row but this week we came up short.

Where's the replay? How can I find that?

As a Dyersburg fan and father of a player, I thought it was a hard fought game that could’ve gone either way. Dyersburg was 21-6 and driving late in the 3rd until the bonehead got reckless and fumbled and Covington scored and got back in it. I thought the Covington punt hit the same player and that it was a Covington TD. I also saw at least half a dozen times where Covington wasn’t set when the ball was snapped and it should have been a penalty. Overall I think it was a pretty clean game. My BP cannot handle too many more like that and I’m young. It’s hard to beat a good team twice in the same season, so we will see how the rematch goes. If Covington didn’t swap the qb out for Fayne(or however it’s spelled) Dyersburg would’ve won by quite a bit. Dyersburg has seen that now and should be more prepared. The rematch is going to be something! Lots of respect for Covington and all that they’ve accomplished over the years! Dyersburg has to learn how to win in the big games and I think we’re slowly starting to do that.

    • Yea, they have Davey quaking in his boots. Someday they'll even have a winning season.
    • Guessing this may have been the closest I can think of...... Bill Harlow: (from wiki) After leaving OSU, Harlow went on to win three national titles in freestyle wrestling.  He won a silver medal at the 1970 World Wrestling Championships, falling to Soviet Gennady Strakhov in the finals at 90 kg.
    • The Simpson brothers had good freestyle careers.

    • Maybe some of the historians can get on here and help me out, but has anybody from Tennessee ever had as much success in an international style as Boykin? The only other Tennessee native I can remember competing for world team spots is the older Boykin in freestyle and he wasn't nearly as close as Nick has been to making world teams.
