Sweeney is a great 3rd man. He contributes when needed and the best part about all three guys is that they called it like they se it. they aren't afraid to have an opinion. and quite frankly they are biased for Forrest and they SHOULD be. but they are more than fair and professional to Forrest's opponents   @TSNSports

The good: Davis and Bell ran hard and wore the defense down. #77 is a stud. He should be up for region lineman of the year and even All State consideration. #60 brings it every play on both sides of the ball. Swift performed when given opportunities out in space. Wilson is all over the field on defense. There were big hits all game long from both teams.

The bad: Burchell is nonexistent on offense. Fastest most elusive player on field with no plan to get him the ball. Pass protection nonexistent. Both running backs were hammered (one injured) by unblocked defensive linemen. Will know more about the injury but initial assessment is not good. Will be a huge loss if he doesn't play again. He is the team's leading rusher and a top tackler.

Richland has good size up front. Their sophomore QB is impressive, receivers will go get the ball,  and the senior RB runs hard.  They had a big size advantage and would have been better served in my opinion running right at us. Their poor rushing effort in the 2nd half was due as much to play calling instead of execution or Forrest defense.

Refs were not very good. Questionable calls both ways but IMO Forrest benefitted from the refs in this game. No way was the offensive PI in the 4th quarter a penalty. The TV crew showed it multiple times and couldn't justify it. The ref on the Forrest sideline made most of the dubious calls. He was influenced by a screaming sideline too much. The Forrest personal foul kicking penalty looked to be because he was getting his ankle twisted in the pile. It was enough twisting to pull his shoe off.

The Forrest critique is the usual. Forrest defense played lights out. They started the game on their own 15 yard line and pushed Richland back, got a pick, and were responsible for another offensive TD. Both Richland TDs were due to great individual efforts by Richland players.  Defensive players were in position but didn't make a play. The defense shifted from 4, 5, and 6 man lines. We had blitzes from multiple linebackers, safeties, and even the corner at the right times. Coverages were mixed up. It looks complicated on the screen but the players know exactly what to do. Very rarely is a player out of position. Preparation meets talent here.

The offensive discussion will be an excellent opportunity for Coach Leroy Brown to stop mucking up the Marion County thread and explain how these same kids that play defense so well go over to offense and leave an entire defensive side of the line untouched on a base run play multiple times. We desperately need help with our interior line and the biggest kid on the team is lined up at receiver stalk blocking. This offense sent 12 guys on the field after a timeout for a 4th and 3 play and later sent the FG team out on 3rd down in the 4th quarter. Thoughts because there's more?
