Oneida vs Monterey

Dekalb lead a lot of the game but our boys picked it up in the fourth. Won 24-14. We have the talent to go far in the playoffs but we have been a little off all year.

We still have to play Livingston to wrap up the region.

Moving on, this one is in the books and it is officially Sequoyah week.

Alright I believe I have got it figured out!

Scenario 1: Oneida wins out and finishes 8-2 they win the region outright no tie breakers no anything. So the easiest thing to do is win out!! 
 

Scenario 2: Oneida beats Sequoyah but loses to Coalfield and finishes 7-3. This is where it starts to get a little complicated. Oneida would still be region champs because the 1st tie breaker goes to overall record. Oneida would be 7-3 and if Monterey wins out they would be 7-3. Rockwood is out of this tie breaker because of them not playin games due to Covid they can only finish with 6 wins at best. So back to Oneida and Monterey both 7-3 so then we go to head to head and Oneida beat Monterey so Oneida wins the region! 
 

Scenario 3: This is the most unlikeliest scenario to happen BUT this is why they play the game. Oneida loses to both Sequoyah and Coalfield and would finish 6-4. They would finish with 6 wins and in turn IF Monterey wins out they would win the region and be the 1 seed with more overall wins which is 7. Rockwood would be the #2 seed with 6 wins and Oneida would have 6 wins and so would Rockwood so then it goes to head to head and Rockwood beat Oneida so they have the head to head so would put Oneida at the #3 seed. 
 

Oneida controls its own destiny as far as winning the region. All they have to do is win and everything else will take care of itself!

Yeah I didn’t do that because it’s complicated and honestly I don’t think it will come into play.

It is the next level of tie breaker if needed. In our scenario it shouldn’t come into play.

If we can get by sequoyah then yes unless wartburg beats Monterey the Rockwood wins the region. It’s all a jumbled mess. Basically we have to beat either sequoyah or coalfield and Monterey has to beat wartburg for us to win. If wartburg beats Monterey then we could still win out and be somewhere other than 1st. It’s confusing but just need to win the next one then wash, rinse, repeat. It’s getting that time of year.
