Meigs vs Tyner

Watched this game without really being for either team. Maybe pulling a little more for Meigs just to set up a bigger game in 2 weeks, but also pulling for Tyner being the underdog. I can see what Tiger is saying about being predictable. Marion is that way at times and some of our posters do voice their displeasure. A lot has to be said for Meigs to hold their composure in a close game after so many lopsided ones this season.

But having no dog in the fight, Meigs is fortunate to come out of that game with a win. Meigs seniors have been in a lot of big games and that helped them a lot. Tyner is relatively young and just doesn't have that experience yet.

I think Tyner could be a tough out in the playoffs. You can game plan all you want but if you can't cover the entire field and tackle in space it could be a long night.

Some are trying to compare scores with our game with Tyner but that's hard to do. Marion won't spread the field and create one on one's out in space. We line up and run it. If our backs can get to the edge or past the def line, 99% of the time it's over. Hard for me to say how our game will go in 2 weeks but I do think Meigs will have to play better to win. It should be a great game (if we can take care of business this next week.)

Sounds like a hard fought game where Meigs didn’t play their best but just did what you expect of a team that’s played for Gold a lot of late, find a way to win, Trenton know all to well from Fairley, McKenzie TC and Meigs games ! A program isn’t forged in  the blowout it’s forged when you get outplayed but at gut check you buck up and leave with a W

We could have just as easily lost as you said. If Tyner got the 2 pt conversion the question is could we drive down and at the very least kick a field goal. We stopped them so it doesn't matter

Our game is a toss-up. It will turn out being about matchups and turnovers. It will be a 4 quarter game as we won't quit regardless.

I don't think we offensively played our best but we didn't play poorly really. Tyner had more speed than we have saw in a long time. They were quick to the edges and quick enough to easily cover our receivers. It nearly made us one dimensional and easily stopped us for the most part.

    • Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
