In 24 hours we should know what’s what.  I’m gonna throw out my biased prediction of Clay 28 Gordonsville 7.

Went by the field this morning, grass is high and it will rain all day. But all the speculation will end tonight and the truth will be revealed. Sticking with my prediction of Clay 26 Gordonsville 20. Hope the game is injury free and wish everyone good luck

Glad to see the excitement this game is drawing. Two small high school football teams that are having great season's and lot's on the line. Clay is good, very good, but I think Gordy with big game experience win's a close game tonight.  When it comes playoff time Gordy always seems to show up big.

I guess I know very little about football, but I can’t seem to understand the rationale behind a competent belief that Clay Co. will score 28, tonight.

Jo Byrns coach said, unequivocally, Gordonsville is “by far the best team we will play, in the regular season.” Clay Co. beat Jo Byrns 20-6 and I know teams can get better as the season goes on, but it appeared Gordonsville could have put up 60 on Jo Byrns. The starters were on the sidelines, early in the 3rd.

Clay has never played well at Jo Byrns. Last year, the game against Jo Byrns was a running clock in Celina. Gordonsville played Jo Byrns at home, so your comparison is apples to oranges. What I don't understand is the belief that Gordonsville will score 28+ on Clay. Nobody has scored more than 14 against their starters (Grundy and RBS both scored twice on subs). In fact, only Cornersville and Westmoreland has scored multiple times against Clay's starters (12 and 14 points respectively). I do think the rain will cause a few more issues for Clay's offense, so I am updating my prediction.

Holt carried Gordonsville on his back last year and he’s not there anymore and I’m not so sure Albritton can carry the load especially if the rain makes that ball hard to handle. This game is going to come down to big plays and Clay county is going to have the best skill player on the field in Kerr. If I was Gordy I would kick it away from him.  If the dawgs line holds up on both sides of the ball I believe they win going away.

Not apples and oranges. That is not a good analysis. Clay county doesn’t play well against team (A), so pay no attention to that dude behind the curtain. At what end?

“Clay county would be undefeated for the past 10 years if you only take into account, Clay Co. doesn’t play well below 480ft above sea level. Clay co. plays best on odd week games. Gordonsville doesn’t like when Clay co. juices up on beets on Thursday. Dismissing the only game to show a comparison on as being inconsequential because?… my hometown doesn’t play well against them. Come on.

I’m not discounting Clay’s abilities, but I am not sold on your analysis.

Everyone's giving their score predictions, so I'll give mine.

27-7 Gville.

I feel that Gordonsville is 2-3 tds better than Clay looking at scores and film. HOWEVER....

I know for a fact that Clay Co. will play harder than any team we play. They may not have the most athleticism, speed, or size, but they have the most grit, plain and simple, and that can help make up for any deficiencies. So, with that said, I'll update my score...

21-7 Gville.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
