New District 3-AA Thoughts and Predictions?

Recommended Posts

What are your thoughts and predictions on the new District 3-AA with:

McMinn Central

Meigs

Loudon

Tellico Plains

Sweetwater

Kingston

How good is this Central team?  I keep hearing they are expecting another run to state?  What about Meigs after losing their entire starting five?  How will new coaches at Meigs, Tellico Plains, and Loudon affect things?  Predictions?  Thoughts?

Central lost one senior. Will have 2 freshman that will see time. Best team I have seen in a long time.  Meigs will fight and be scrappy this year, Kingston is pretty good but still a little young.  Tellico has a good team as well, but depth will be an issue playing Meigs and Central that will push you for 4 qts. Loudon will struggle. Sweetwater will beat Loudon.

Depth will hurt Meigs this year as well, there young and probably only about 7 deep. They have some others but there about a year away from being able to contribute.

After seeing a little bit from lasts night jamboree, has anyone seen a different take?

I still think Central is the team on top, but after last night it is a toss up to me. Thoughts?

With a couple of games under everyone’s belt, what are some thoughts?

McMinn Central is going to be a handful. Deep, Talented, Plenty of girls who can score....Going to be battle tested going into district play with playing the likes of Catholic, Alcoa, and Bradley

The Bradley score really suppressed me tonight. Thought Central would keep it close or even win.

Shot the ball horribly and their length gave us trouble. 12 point game at half. I was surprised  as well, but sometimes you just have those tough shooting nights. Kinda the same thing happened last year playing Meigs. I suspect it will be a different game at Central.  Don’t get me wrong. I feel Bradley will be in Murfreesboro this year, the are solid.

A few surprises for me so far Meigs over Tellico and Sweetwater over Kingston. As of Christmas break.

McMinn Central 2-0

Meigs Co 2-0

Sweetwater 2-0

Tellico 0-2

Kingston 0-2

Loudon 0-2

    • My favorite game of the 1980'S, that's why I remember it so well.
    • Why would the tax payers be responsible for paying for only a coach? In recent years with all the theft from various programs in schools from different programs with booster clubs (not just sports) the State of TN has made alot of rules surrounding booster clubs and how they handle money.  I have two documents to review, 1 is 40 pages from the state comptroller and the other is 37 pages from my district, so I can consider starting a booster club for my middle school program. It has been too much trouble in the past for the other coaches.  There is no way there needs to be an adult in the school building for 7 hours a day with no responsibilities except coaching.
    • The only thing that was said at half time of the 45-0 game was Coach Story, he said: "I know y'all have been out there a lot, but kick-off team, y'all need to get down there faster!" Then he and the other coaches proceeded to go into the coaches office and we all went nuts!  It was the only time I can ever remember coaches not saying anything at half time. Definitely a great memory!!!
    • Boyd could actually be a grade below what he is now, but his parents didn't see the need to "redshirt" him like the other city school down the road would have pushed for....
