Sequoyah High School. Monroe county

Well their season ended tonight and they were able to put up their third consecutive winless season. Even after firing coaches in mid season. Made absolutely no positive effects whatsoever. This is a sad situation for this school and community. Even the other county schools are hardly any better. 
I think back to when coach Wiggins and coach Satterfield had the program for seven years. More wins than any other coaches. Four straight playoff appearances. 
they should have kept them or at the least bring them back now!! This program is barely on life support and current coaches will finish them off if they are left in place. 
does anyone in Monroe county care???

White county went to TSSAA a few years back and asked to play non region to try and build up the program, they improved a lot in the last couple of years. Maybe Sequoyah could also. Only problem they’re in the middle of a 2 year class period.

They were in a bad spot....Bolinger is a fantastic guy and had some good ways of trying to get the program in the right direction.  I really think that they have to really have to get a guy in there to completely turn the program around.  They will need a new staff.  This is something that would be difficult for admin to be ok with but they are going to have to just let the new guy have some freedom.  That means a staff!  They have some good looking kids...but they also have a ton of kids (like most schools) that should be out but just wouldn't because of the coaching situation.

Teams are built and championships are won in the offseason.  Personally if I were the head football coach I would implement a very structured and mandatory speed, strength & conditioning program that would begin ASAP along with requiring all of the football players that are not on the basketball team to be on the wrestling team.  Often times you will find that if the football team is not successful it's due to a lack of mental toughness.  There is not sport better than wrestling at developing mental fortitude in high school athletes.
