21-22 Region 1A Early Outlook

Hard to really tell. Hampton returns everyone and they are very deep. I think North Greene lost a few but you never know what they will have arrive through their connections.

I think Hampton wins the league. NG takes 2nd.

I think NG is gonna be slept on by a lot, and I think they’re gonna surprise many. Call me crazy but I say it’s a dog fight between both, and they split in the season.

I do think NG is gonna be better than some may think this season but they are young and inexperienced and Hampton will be really good this year. Should be a fun season.

District 1 Teams have been mentioned here, whats to expect from District 2 in this Region? Cosby, Hancock, Jellico? Not familiar since I don't have a kid playing anymore but would like to keep up with this region this season.

They scrimmaged greeneville earlier this week and looked pretty decent. I know greeneville was missing several football players but NG still looked pretty good especially with the new kids playing.

Based on what I have seen and heard, is Hampton simply 25 points better than anyone in the Region? They've been destroying teams without half of their roster. Seems like they'll roll straight into a Sub-State based on very early season basketball, just a thought.

I don’t know if they are 25 points better than everyone but they are playing well put 97 up on Cherokee and 92 on jellico. They are very deep and well balanced. I just don’t know what everyone else in the region has to make a prediction.

Right now it seems to be...Cloudland will take awhile to get to their A-Game due to football, but I still think they will be out manned. Unaka just isn't very good. University lost anyone that was half-way decent and NG isn't near as good but could sneak up on some people if the Germans gel together. 

As far as the other region goes, Cosby and Hancock will be the top 2 there. Hancock seems to be much improved and Cosby is still Cosby.

Hampton has to be the favorite in District 1 with NG right behind them. This NG team is starting to look good and will be a factor come tournament time. Got a chance to see Jellico play and was impressed by them, they play hard and run the floor well and can shoot the 3 well. Should make for a good region tournament when you add Cosby and Hancock Co to the mix along with the other District 1 teams.

I think cland boys basketball is gonna be down for a long time.  There just isn't much talent coming up.
