Red Bank wins this one by 21 plus if they show up like they are capable.

The Stone and Red Bank score was a bit deceiving. Stone was having success moving the ball down field against the Lions. Stone had five turnovers in that game. You can’t have that and expect to stay in the game.

Therefore, leading to my point, if MC can protect the ball and stop the big plays like we did against Chattanooga Central in the second half, I think this game stays close till the end.

I’m very curious to see how MC plays against the adversity by having to make the 2 and a half hour road trip. Either way the game goes, it’s always a good year by having a winning season and getting a playoff win. As far as I can remember, the only teams to win in the playoffs for MC was the 03’ team, 16’ team, and this years team. I want to say maybe one of those teams in the 60s and 70s did but I can’t remember.

I hope y’all win I really do, but if the team that showed up to play Fayetteville shows up against y’all… I don’t see it happening.

Good luck!

I complete agree with you my friend. It’s going to take a lot but I feel good about it just hoping the boys go out there and have fun win or lose.

Good luck over there in H20town this week!

    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
