i would  say you gave seen 5 good defenses this year...and 0-5. we shut mr football finalist down...held them to a total of 104 yards...had a few scores left off the board because penalties brung them back. You guys have scored points on sub par defenses...come hang those points friday and i will acknowledge your offense is special i promise you that.

If they can put over 50 on our D I favor them to win the 5A Gold Ball

Where’s the guy from Hc that said their season was dead in the water?

Lol that Paducah Tilghman thread was a trainwreck, but at 3-5 it's pretty easy for the walls to start closing in. I'm just glad the team nutted up and buckled down.

I said during the bye week that just winning our two remaining games and a playoff game would be a successful season. Well, we've exceeded that.

I don't know how this game will go, but I do know it's hard to beat a good team twice. That's a plus for HC. The plus for Springfield is that they have HFA this time around and will definitely want to leave no doubt after they narrowly beat an ailing HC team earlier in the season.

Massey and unapproved website both favor the Jackets in the close one, 21-20 and 19-17, respectively. FWIW, they both favored HC last time.

Nope even Steven at worst.

No way y’all won the region. Y’all are ranked higher. And y’all are playing at home. I’ve never met a group of guys that wants to hold on to that under dog mentality so bad. It sounds like the situation is getting to big and if you lose y’all can say well we were the underdog. Given all the the details I just bought up it would be an upset for HC to leave Springfield with a Win.

They may keep HC to 3 scores but that hum drum offense won’t put 21 on HC. 1 side or the other will be shocked Friday night. If HC can put up points the jackets offense is not good enough to get in a track meet. Roll Red

He must be The Godfather of HC football then…..So glad his highness could grace us with his vast important knowledge of HC’s offense….we all should just bow and kiss the ring now

The question is, why you still standing though?

But in your mind it wouldn’t be an upset if HC wins. Forget rankings. The Jackets have seen that before.

    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
