Since Smyrna is in the west side of the bracket and they would have won there could possibly be 3 Rutherford county teams playing this week. For instance Oakand, Riverdale (had they won) and Smyrna in the west side of the 6A bracket (had they won).

Yes, my mistake. I assumed you were referring only to the region 4 teams since you were referencing them.

Does his stepson play quarterback? We sure could use at the Dale next year.

No. He is just one of the youngest asst. principals in RCS at OHS. The daughter is an instructional coach at, you guessed it, OMS. Oakland is dear to big spur. So is Creasy and his program.

Woo boy you are really reaching. Spurlock should feel honored that you created an account just so you could post about him

Spurlock is an Awesome Superintendent because he understands athletics due to his own coaching & playing experience. This should be a pre-requisite for ANY administrator in any school district IMO. - Also keep in mind that back in the hay-day of Riverdale, the Superintendent was Hulon Watson - who played college football at Wyoming and also coached along the way and is also the one who brought in Rankin. He cared about athletics and the entire county benefited then too. Be thankful that we have a guy like Spurlock leading our county schools. You could be in metro .... where the leaders very obviously do not care enough.

One school is definitely benefitting. I totally agree. Many others at the other RCS feel the same way. Maybe not publicly, but they feel the same.

So tell me any inaccuracies in my last post. I will be waiting to hear from you.

Your implying that the only reason they have their positions is nepotism. If you knew either, you'd know this is a bad take. Spurlock was an assistant principal at Riverdale for 8 years, both his kids graduated there. Safe to say Riverdale holds a pretty special place for him as well, but that wouldn't support the narrative your trying to spin

Where was spur the principal at last before becoming RCS DOS ? Again where are the stepson and daughter employed NOW ? And so spur would have no say in where faculty are located and who is chosen for let's say an administrative position in the RCS ?

You like answering your own questions don't you? Decker earned his position and his daughter has been at OMS for some time, first as a successful bball coach. Maybe you should spend your energies supporting whatever program Creasy mercy ruled

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
