I don't want to put pressure on this player but is  Jenna Johnson starting to remind you of a former Lady Wildcat?

The player I am thinking of is two time Class AAA Miss Basketball, Southern Conference Player of the year at UTC and current Head Coach at Harden Valley Academy JENNIFER WILSON.

My nickname for Jennifer was Miss Automatic. Back then, I posted a lot on OR Lady B-ball. Became friends with parents like the Barnard's and Coach Burkey. I also became a friend of the Wilson Family the year I taught Jennifer's nephew at Oak Ridge Nursery School.

The players wondered how I knew so much about them and who I was. Finally, one day at an AAU Tournament at Roane State, Miss Automatic came up and sat by me. Finally, she asked if I was WillieTheWildcat. We had a laugh and talked for a around an hour. She wouldn't say but my guess was Mrs. Lee ( Jennifer's Grandmother ) gave me away. They were all really good people.

Anybody agree that Jenna may turn into a Jennifer someday?  RWR!

I think we can say that Coach Taylor has our girls playing her brand of basketball.  West goes down 72-35.  I like that this team has a lot of weapons and not so reliant on 1 person to carry the balance of the scoring load.

RWR!

Perfect observation Neil.

The one thing I hope for this team is it gets some time with the injured inside players before the season is over. Those girls are working hard trying to get well and deserve playing time.

RWR! Rebounding is a " want to " skill. Want it Oak Ridge!

Thank you to Neil, Stephanie and the Thompson Family for tonight's Lady Wildcats basketball streaming game. They are a Super Wildcat Family.

It is halftime and Oak Ridge is beating Knoxville Central  29 -  16 in the District 3-AAAA tournament girls.

You are welcome Willie.  Glad to do it. #RWR

    • As I said somewhere earlier in the thread, the original plans had no outdoor athletic facilities being part of the campus.  The original plan was for HVA to use facilities at nearby schools.  Very late in the process they came up with a plan and found budget to have minimal facilities and crammed them in to space that never was intended for athletic facilities.
    • Agreed, the way the field is turned you get the evening sun blasting right into the press box making filming a nightmare there, plus its so low.  The field is land locked and parking is a nightmare too. Seems like Knox County could have done a lot better there with the design and the quality.
    • I think this upcoming team may be pretty good, they will definately be better up front and if they can replace Dozier, Heyward and Rembert, they can be real good. They have the same strange schedule, but this time with 5 straight home games. The road games at Jeff County, Powell will be tough to open up with and the back side at Bearden is the tough game there.  One question I had if anyone knows: There has been some talk of an indoor practice facility in the past, with the new track area now more of a track area, that kind of leaves a need for a football practice area. Just sayin....
    • I find it hard to believe that 70% of a schools enrollment is zoned for another school district
    • I was told that the indoor facility is happening regardless of the vote on the taxes but it would be a much bigger project with more funds if they vote goes through
