Riverside lost the last game that felt like this one going in...but they led the "unbeatable" Tide early by two scores, and had some heart rates at the +100 mark in the visitor stands. Not predicting anything out of the conventional train of thought, but stranger things happen frequently.

I honestly feel like RS is the more physical and disciplined football team. Good luck

Larry Barrett Stadium.  I will take Martin and 28 pts.

Unless you get there early, parking will be hard to find. You can continue south for about two hundred yards, park in the baseball/county recreational building, and walk up the lighted concrete walkway back to the football parking lot. Looking forward to a good gate, and proud to be playing after Thanksgiving. Feel like it's going to be us against the world, and that is usually better than being the favorite imo.

I think the world of Tiverside fans here on the T and I think a lot of the program Frostie is running over there but this game will not be close. Westview will put up 28+ points I see Riverside scoring around 14 points and one of those being a trick play.

You, Vandyfan1, are one of the most accurate posters on the T. I always appreciate your knowledge of high school football, not only around here but in other regions of the state. Frostie's boys might fall this week, but if they do they have had a heck of a ride. They are a close bunch of kids. There are 17 sets of brothers on this team, yes 34 of them are playing on a team with their brother. The rest are like brothers too. They have been winning a lot of games since they were in middle school, and really play well together. Before the season started, I picked them to be 6-4 going into the playoffs. I can usually get within one game either way. I overestimated some teams on our schedule, like Lexington (a 4a neighboring school usually beats us 9 out of every 10 years.) Instead of 6-4 our boys were 9-1.  They have really surprised me the way they have won, even on off nights (East Hickman and Forrest). I'm not going to be surprised anymore. They might lose by a lot to Westview, but I won't be surprised if Riverside is looking for a couple of charter buses next week to go to Chattanooga either. I guess I'm being a homer, but at this time of the year in the playoffs, either team can show up, and I'm looking for my home team of brothers to show up and put up a fight against, probably the best 2A team in the state. And don't be suprised if a Rudy doesn't throw down his water bucket and run out on the field for a play or two, or if you hear Bobby Boucher's mother yelling over the top of the fans in our packed stadium. We understand we are the underdogs, we get it, but our boys will show up and anything can happen.

Yeah the pick six and then scoring on the "trick" gadget play had the home side jumping. Id like to think of myself as rational, we make the extra point to go up 14-0 and everything on the scoreboard looked great except there was still over half the first quarter left. We need to grind some drives and some clock. Best defense for Simpson is to keep him on the sidelines.

Westview defense is looking for a repeat performance Friday night. The offense looking to get back to what they normally do. Should be a great game

Riverside IMO has a comparable defense to MAHS and the offense is much better. I look for those River rats to make this a game on a cold November Friday night.

    • As I said somewhere earlier in the thread, the original plans had no outdoor athletic facilities being part of the campus.  The original plan was for HVA to use facilities at nearby schools.  Very late in the process they came up with a plan and found budget to have minimal facilities and crammed them in to space that never was intended for athletic facilities.
    • Agreed, the way the field is turned you get the evening sun blasting right into the press box making filming a nightmare there, plus its so low.  The field is land locked and parking is a nightmare too. Seems like Knox County could have done a lot better there with the design and the quality.
    • I think this upcoming team may be pretty good, they will definately be better up front and if they can replace Dozier, Heyward and Rembert, they can be real good. They have the same strange schedule, but this time with 5 straight home games. The road games at Jeff County, Powell will be tough to open up with and the back side at Bearden is the tough game there.  One question I had if anyone knows: There has been some talk of an indoor practice facility in the past, with the new track area now more of a track area, that kind of leaves a need for a football practice area. Just sayin....
