Oakland has history with Hendersonville, they don't with Summit. I haven't seen or heard anything from Summit that would make me think they weren't a great program. Just another example of why a team “MUST” have a true passing game if you are going to win a state championship. Yes, it’s great to be able to run the ball all the time but unfortunately if you get behind it’s very difficult to catchup without a hurry up offense than can pass the ball. mondo44 Posted November 30, 2021 Report Share Posted November 30, 2021 Great year for the Commandos, Region title, 10 wins, 2 wins over both of our biggest rivals Beech and Gallatin. Thanks to Coach Beasley, the assistant coaches, and the administration. But first and foremost thanks to the players. Torin Baker and Ellis Ellis both had individually over 1500 yards rushing and receiving and were named today as co region MVP’s. Luke Manning threw for over 1500 yds and 21 TD’s and was named region offensive MVP. Jack Busey was named region MVP offensive lineman. Also making all region were Jameson Wharton, Aaron Baker, Jaden Thornton, Kyle Duvall, Anthony Christian, Noah Carmean, and Donnell Brown. Coach Beasley was named coach of the year.
