Well, to be honest, Peabody and McK are the 2 largest 1a schools and Peabody missed the 2a cutoff by about 2 students and McK by about 10 or 20 so both of them dropping down with their recent success would have been a complete disappointment not to have been in the West semi-final bracket.  The same thing could have been said about UC for a a string of years.  It shouldn't even be close against teams like Greenback, South Pittsburg, Coalfield etc when you have a 200 student margin.  That's why I think there really may as well only be 4 classifications instead of 6, especially with the privates mostly in Div II.  SP and Trousdale County had to wade through the alphabet schools in the 90s and through 2012 to get to the semis and the final and more often than not they both did it.

Mckenzie nor Peabody has any choice in there classification ? that being said, they both played the hand they were both delt, and McKenzie has ran the table thus far!!! we all know that south Pitt is not gonna be easy, contrary to some of the smoke and mirrors, BS, whatever ya want to call it, that's being spread on here.. just know, THE MCKENZIE REBELS, will be ready for a fight till the finish!!!!! have no doubt about that.. I hope the best of luck to both teams, and  no injuries!!!! the refs have been great last two weeks and I hope that continues for one more!!! won't be an easy task, but I like the REBELS in this one!!!!!

1st, my response was to a Lake County poster.  Secondly, you ignored the point I made about classifications.  Lastly, Pirates don't roll over either.  They lost last year throwing into the end zone on the last play of the game and lost to UC the 1st time by a field goal with about 3 seconds on the clock.  This stuff about the Pirates getting blown out is the real B.S. because it hasn't happened since 1974 when Brentwood Academy did it.  The last time SP played McK you all were moving up and this time y'all moved down.  This Pirate bunch may get clobbered Friday, but they aren't afraid of playing anyone in Tennessee.

How many starters did So. Pittsburg lose off of last years runner up team?

Almost all of them. I’d say close to 9 each way. The fact they have made it this far with all the junk they have endured is nothing short of a miracle IMO. Go Pirates but everyone knows the strength was in the west this season

I got to take Mckenzie in this one they beat the two defending state champs to get here and both of those games were dog fights. They are def battle tested.  I think South Pitt has been phenomenal dealing with what they have been through this season having their coach quit on them. I think they have the speed to keep up with Mckenzie but they wont be physically capable of hanging around. If you want the recipe to stopping Mckenzie or Slowing them down then turn the Fayetteville tape on but South Pitt doesnt have those type of kids. Mckenzie really well coach they wont beat themselves. Mckenzie by 3 1/2 scores give me #11 for MVP.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
