Well they are the champs and I believe that’s kind of what that means

So, all the panicking or not panicking talk is nonsense then, right? It wouldn't have mattered then?  Right?  They murdered the same team that eliminated Trousdale.  Woulda pretty much creamed any team in the east or middle TN, right?

Scoreboard says different. Haven’t seen a game like this since Greenback in 2016

I was there in 16 and 15,we ran into a buzzsaw both years.Played a College team in 15 and Dresden was loaded in 16.I texted Ukoit2 yesterday and told him the same thing, sometimes we just dont matchup well with teams with so much "Athleticism".Still only A Gold and Silver for 1 and 2.What ifs and maybe dont count.I am proud of our 3 Silvers just as our 2 Golds!Great year Bulldogs!Congrats to WV you also was a buzzsaw!

I disagree. No disrespect to Hampton whatsoever because they are an awfully good football team, but Huntingdon and MAHS would handle the Dawgs as well.

That's a fact! Hampton has a good team but I would say Westview played about 4 or maybe 5 teams that were better than Hampton. Riverside had a good team but Huntingdon, MAHS, and Peabody were forsure better than Riverside. In the Riverside we didn't come out ready to play and had some players sick. A do over with Westview and Riverside would be just like the Hampton game.

Hampton had a couple bad plays go against them and got away form their gameplan. There are multiple scenarios where this game is much closer.

Riverside. RIVERSIDE, was head of Westview at halftime and had 18 points. Riverside was scoreless against Forrest at the half and finished with 15 points. It's all meaningless.  Saying this or that team would've beaten Hampton- it's just stupid. It's pointless. They weren't there. They didn't make it to the game. Hampton did.

If Hampton has 4-5 plays go their way its a nailbiter. Anyone who understands football will get that. I'll name an example 5. The two dimes #6 threw, the coverage was a not bad. They were 1 on 1 and could've gone incomplete, a pick, etc. Hampton's fumble, the disastrous series inside the 5 right before half.   The two picks. That's 6,

#6 killed more with his feet but when you give up TWO dimes back to back you leave that open. They panicked more on defense than they did offense. But the drive before half they neglected to put their beef in and run right at Westview and I am not sure why.

Super Bowls are often blowouts. They are the highest of high adrenaline games. The biggest emotional crashes come in these type games too.

Dissing Hampton's body of work, including  a come from behind against Trousdale, who could hang with any team in 1A or 2A, is foolish.

Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.
    • Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
