Greeneville should be making hotel arrangements in Murfreesboro. They have deep talent and a great coach in Annette Watts.

Grainger is not the team of last year, but still can get hot, so they shouldn't be ruled out.

Grainger plays in Greeneville on Friday. Greeneville did lose in Grainger a couple of weeks ago.

One factor in favor of Greeneville is having four-year starter, Grace Hayes, back in the lineup after missing much of the season. Hayes is always around the basketball, and should be in good shape by now.

So, out of the east, I take Greeneville to go a long way in the tournament. Grainger could surprise tomorrow night.

I've seen Upperman play a few games and they are the only team not from the east whom I have seen. Upperman should make it to the state, also. Don't count them out.

Sorry I can't name 5 teams, but the above teams will make some noise this year. I'll leave the rest of the picks to those who have seen the good teams from Middle and West.

Note to self: Stop trying to pick winners.

Greeneville did not play the way they are capable of playing. Grainger did! Hats off to Grainger County. A big win for them on the road in a place that can be difficult for visiting teams.

Hopefully Greeneville will get another shot at them in the tournament. Next up for Greeneville: Cocke County.

Clay County starting to assert themselves as the number 1 seed in their District. We have seen crazy things in these areas in years past. Runner up in the District Tournament actually will probably keep 1 of the big 3 from playing each other. Don’t know about the other Region, but looks like 1 of the big 3 will be eliminated in Region by possibly playing one another.

Clay won and congratulations to them. They deserved it.  In the first half Pickett was up 10ish. 7 of the next 8 fouls were against Pickett. That had a TON to do with the outcome. In the second half the calls were pretty equal but the damage was done as a key player had to be taken out. In the first 2 minutes of the boys game Pickett’s coach was hit with a warning (for asking clarification on a call). TSSAA is more corrupt than the Gotti’s. Until Rick Shoulders is removed from a position of power, no team will ever get a fair game in the upper Cumberland. End of discussion.

Can Gibson County return the favor to Westview?

They very well could. We were fortunate to steal one at their place. It’ll take a team effort on our part to keep the Hart girls in check, but it’ll be more dependent on us adjusting against their new press adjustment. I like our chances at home, but we have to take care of the ball and get a hand in the face of their shooters. Should be another classic one for sure.

We will play hard and see what happens. We got to control Jada better for sure and contest their shooters  better than we did first game. She is having a great year. Easier said than done though right?? Got a solid team. Two great programs and great coaches and even better people. I like both coaches. Both class acts.

    • You defend your little buddy bsatt like it’s the end of the world just as much. Why don’t you go on to Upperman with him this summer… you know he is your “BEST MAN”.
    • No sir. Not staying at East. But definitely not going to Elizabethton.
    • Football and basketball coaches should not be making 100,000 not teaching any classes unless their winning state championship every year lol
    • Im sure Nick Saban didnt have the final say at Alabama! That was not one of your brightest statements. How can you be that uneducated about football and blog about football? Its fair to name people who get arrested, its part of the consequences of their dumb mistakes as adults. You talk mess about the satterfields for way less. Are you that guys lawyer? I have never seen somebody defend someone so hard for something that could have been catastrophic.
