TribalEmpire
With conference play underway and the holidays behind us, let's see how the district is shaping up: Who had Science Hill being 0-2 in conference play? Not this guy. Who had Boone at 2-0? Again, not this guy. Is Crockett for real? They sure look it after beating the Hill last night for the first time in over a decade. West Ridge looked good before the dawn of the new year, now the Wolves are faltering and 0-2 in the conference, Can they rebound? What about the cardiac Lady Indians? Back to back nights of incredible non-conference wins, can they challenge for the conference? All of a sudden, Boone at D-B Friday night becomes a HUGE conference game that probably wasn't on most folks radars early in the season. The conference is shaping up to be crazy this season. It appears as if any of the five could beat the others on any given night. As a D-B fan, I can only provide analysis on the Lady Indians. They have some impressive showings. Led Bearden for the majority of three quarters before faltering late. Have beaten Jeff County twice. Beat Elizabethton last night. Beat Sullivan East by 32. However, they also have some puzzling losses. Unaka (although the Lady Rangers appear to actually be very good in retrospect). Lost to Sullivan East by 5 a week after beating them by 32. Lost to Gate City. The 6'2 girl who I thought could be a future force in years to come transferred to West Ridge before the Christmas tournament, so they lost the size on the interior. The conference season should be fun and crazy. Looking forward to see how it goes the rest of the way. Thoughts?

TribalEmpire
Science Hill gets their first conference win of the season last night against Daniel Boone, which drops the Lady Blazers from the top spot in the conference. Dobyns-Bennett and David Crockett are now tied atop the conference, though Crockett beat D-B head to head. Crockett goes to Science Hill Friday. TribalEmpire
Dobyns-Bennett lost to Greeneville on the road last night, but now take over sole possession of first place in the conference as Science Hill knocked off Crockett. Also, West Ridge got their first district victory in program history over Daniel Boone last night as well.
TribalEmpire
Well the Big 5 conference championship will come down to the final conference game. Dobyns-Bennett hosts Science Hill in the Buck Van Huss Dome on Thursday. It is the final conference game of the season as David Crockett, West Ridge and Daniel Boone have all finished the conference schedule. If D-B wins, they win the Big 5 outright and are the top seed in the District 1-4A tournament. If Science Hill wins, it will be a three way tie between D-B, Science Hill and David Crockett. If I am reading it correctly, then Crockett would be the top seed based on a 3-1 record against the other two, Science Hill would be 2 and D-B 3.
