North Carolina is a basketball state! Just poking the bear but if you want to see a great state tournament go to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Iowa or even better California. For all the crazy things that happen in California I will say that they do a great job with their state wrestling tournament. Oh for sure. I went to high school in North Carolina. Son went to high school in TN. My old high just won their 3rd straight dual championship Saturday. The head coach for App St went to my old high school. The Greensboro Coliseum is awesome place to watch the state individual tournament. There some pretty good kids in the state. 2 good kids left the state. Jax Forrest and Joe Sealey. Baylor tried to get a kid named Kage Williams to come there.

They had some out of state hammers again this year!

All that Bernard and Mark are doing is taking home a good salary and trying to keep the BOC happy.

You are welcome to use it. TSSAA Executives and BOC, We are contacting you concerning the upcoming Wrestling State Tournament 16 man bracket, 3-day format. Lets preface this by saying we are sure that there is never an easy answer to any of the decisions you face, however we feel strongly that we can do better by our children in this area. By stretching the 16 man bracket to three days, the impact it will have on wrestlers' health and education as well as the enormous financial burden the parents and programs will shoulder will be counter productive at the very least. Asking student athletes to miss two or three days of school, dual enrollment college classes and manage weight over the course of three days with very few opportunities to wrestle is not the best choice for them. Spreading out four matches over 3 days when it was all done in one day in the past year is not a positive change. In addition to this the transportation and room and board over that three day period is not something most programs can shoulder. These issues are aside from the time off and financial responsibilities that parents who would like to attend and support their children will have to consider. Please consider changes to the schedule while we still have time. 2 1

PackMentality
The State schedule is beyond absurd but so is the Region/Substate structure. Region 3 only has 7 schools and 4 wrestlers go to Substate. Having these kids make weight an extra week is just irresponsible.
