If you would have told me Jackson would still be at Oakland in 2022 I'd have taken it so yes I believe the rumors. Personally I believe Gordonsville is a step down, but I understand bc GHS is home for him. Just means he'll have some on the job training for when we inevitably have to replace Creasy

Personally, I think he may be doing it for some HC experience. What better place to get that experience than home? I could be wrong, but if it is Jackson, I don't see it being long term. I'm fine with that.

Plus, he'll look really good with what we have coming back next year.

Croz tell this Jackson man to tell his boys not spit on that stone man and little grider mans goalpost.  That made our boys real mad.  You think im joking but im not.

Don't think Gordonsville would have much of a chance if it wasn't home. I'll be interested to see what kind of offense he runs at GHS. Last person that left Oakland for Gordonsville got them a title. Hopefully, Jackson can do the same before Oakland wants him back when Creasy leaves for greener pastures

Off topic, and if you’re not comfortable answering this I’ll completely understand. But I’ve always heard that Rutherford Co. doesn’t pay all that well, in light of the success they have enjoyed?

I guess it depends who your comparing it to. I do think RuCo could pay their teachers more, but they do make above the state average and the standard of living is more affordable than Williamson Co, which does have one of the highest pay rates. You can afford to pay your football coaches much better in other southern states because their selling out stadiums the size of small colleges; Oakland can't even consistently sell out a 5,000 seat stadium

Isn't creasy only in his mid 40's?

Not worrying about Creasy retiring. Eventually a private school is gonna come along and make him an offer he can't turn down

You must have counter info, because in speaking to him directly, he seems highly interested in a few college positions locally.  That's not to say he wouldn't take the money, but you seem awfully sure given that I've verbally heard him say moving up and winning on the next level is more important than than getting the bag.

I don't have any info that says different, but his predecessor at Oakland left for a job that doubled what he was making here and didn't have the kind of success Creasy did.

It can be hard to make the jump to college, alot of it is just timing and knowing the right people. I have no doubt that Creasy would be successful at that level. At the end of the day both options represent making an amount much more than what Oakland can pay. Oakland has been incredibly blessed to have 2 really good HC's consecutively like McDaniel and Creasy

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
