This post isn't about any team saying Lakeway is better than anyone. They don't play a weak schedule. They traveled to 3 different states played some ranked teams from that state. The district is weak this year. However the job the coach has done with 2 8th graders 2 sophomores 1 Jr and 8th and 8th grader coming off bench is impressive I think. That is tuff to maintain week end and out being 20 and 3 with the cards they have is great coaching in my opinion.

no sore spot, just calling you out for dismissing teams due to the size of their school.

Like opponents including 3 & 4A schools for Loretto:

Oakland - lost to Cookeville by 9, Page by 11, and Upperman by 4.  Oakland lost to little old Loretto by 37.

Lawrence Co - lost to Page by 9, lost to Loretto by 33 & 38.

Knox Catholic has played a tougher schedule than Lakeway, you have no argument there. But your post insinuating that Loretto & Westmoreland are less than because they're smaller schools is uneducated.  I assure you... Bearden, Farragut, and Bradley would have the fight of their season trying to beat Loretto.  And yes, I know what Bearden did in the Christmas tourney.  They're a great team! But they'd have their hands full with little old Loretto.

Again I never said anything about Loretto or westmoreland.  In fact this is the first time I have put their names in my post.   So learn how to read a post correctly.   I said catholic will play anybody including the toughest 4A teams not just tough 1A teams.  You put those 2 schools in this conversation not me.  Lakeway still lost by 29 to loretto and it was probably worse then that.   I also said 1A-4A doesn’t matter when good is good.

Knox catholic is not top competition. Average at best lorretto and Westmoreland are better than catholic.

Really, ok CAK.  Facts are facts.   Knox Catholic will play anybody, Top 4A teams not top 1A .

your comment above was a reply to Tide's comment above.  You quoted him in this reply.  He said Westmoreland & Loretto were better than Knox Catholic, you dismissed that saying Knox plays top 4A teams not top 1A teams.  That, friend, is why I chimed in.  C'mon now, no reason to deflect.  Good Luck to your team!

Tide, sorry for taking over your thread about a good coach!

You did what I would done if someone was down playing a team i following. He knows what he said and playing everyone does not put you in same league as Loretto.

Again I never said anything about loretto lol.  I was only talking about lakeway and knox catholic.  You all brought loretto into this.   You all are like the media turn it to what you want.   Read everything I said!

Randy Coffman won 4 straight gold balls at Riverdale with phenomenal talent.  It takes a great coach to manage egos of those players and parents.  Since then he has taken over a start up private school in the middle of no where.  Said private school does not board students.  He is a a great coach and a really good dude.

    • Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach.  There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now.  I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan.  Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there.  There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County.  Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first.  It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
    • This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
    • yeah money aint right there anymore
    • I suppose you are correct but from my understanding it was going to be a situation of the HC saying yay or nay to every play
