Is Ja'Kobi Gillespie the most underrated player in the State?

Belmont is getting a steal in Gillespie!  The kid performs best when playing against the toughest competition. He dropped 34 last night against #3 ranked Morristown East, put 35 points up in a win against Dr. Phillips the 14th ranked team in the nation, and had 28 against Amarillo, TX who is ranked 5th in 5a and hasn't lost since the Arby's Classic.

Belmont definitely got a steal. He’s been awesome every time I got to see him this year.

Belmont is a good fit. I don’t think he is under rated in the state. Maybe at a National level. He will have an opportunity for immediate playing time at Belmont which will be beneficial for him

I don't think he is underrated. I am from West Tennessee, so I have to look at his stats and any video clips that are posted online or social media. He's a player for sure! 

I think the most underrated kids are from my area.

I think if he was 6’4” he’d be a high level power 5 recruit…I know size doesn’t mean everything but I do believe if he was taller he’d be highly sought after. He’s so smooth and such a complete player.

A long list of West TN guys whose coaches have done very little to get them to the next level. Some for pretty good reasons though.

Ja’Kobi is an unreal talent and better kid. I got to coach him “a little” as a youngster as our kids played travel ball together. I’ll guarantee you Belmont is getting a DIAMOND!  He’s an unreal competitor and athlete. Wish him the best. No idea about the others mentioned, but this was a Kobi thread so I’m only commenting on him.

No they're definitely underrated. A few could be 3 and D guys at mid-majors at the least. Instead they'll all be at preps, JUCOs, or done.
