Nolansville and Franklin got Region 7 Coaches of the Year. This isn’t the first time Miller has been snubbed.

This is probably the case in a lot of regions. If the coach whose team won the region or finished the highest at the duals was given the award every year, then the same coaches would always win it. Not saying that's right, but it is the reality of the situation. The other coaches in each region probably want to share the love.

I thought that people received awards and pay increases for doing the best job?  When did we start 'SHARING THE LOVE"

All of them are deserving of the award but a lot goes into these votes/decisions. Look at pro sports for example not every time a team has the best record do they get the coaching award. For instance Nolensville moved up a classification and did very well and wrestled extremely tough at the state duals. While Franklin did not make it to state duals they won their side of the district (first time in over 13 years) and they do not have a middle school team or feeder like the other two. There have been multiple times when a team from this region won regions and placed at state and the coach didn't get the award. I believe Miller has won the award a couple times in his stint at Summit but would like to know when he got snubbed this award in the past?

Does Grassland not have a middle school wrestling team?  I know they are a feeder school into Franklin High, but are not familiar enough to know what all sports in which they participate.

Let’s not make excuses for MS and feeders. When Pete took over they had no feeder and the MS and HS was a dumpster fire. Pete built both of those and is extremely active in the off season to make sure his program is where it is. Most coaches bounce after state tournament while Pete is still active in Freestyle/Greco, MS and kids club. Not saying the coaches aren’t worthy because they all sacrifice a lot of time. So let’s just call it a popularity contest over COY.

First off I didnt make excuses I said they were all deserving and then simply said some info on the situation. Yes Miller does a great job from the kids club to the middle school and summer programs but they voted on who did the best job this year  and again it could have went to any of them as some times "best job" could mean different things in different years.  Yes a lot of times it is a popularity contest always has and probably always will be.  I think Miller did a great job again this year and that he cares more about his team placing at state than a coaching award just like all the other coaches in that region.  Ill do my best to tell the other coaches not to "bounce" after state though if they want to be included for award next year.

Who did the "best job" can really only mean one thing in athletics.

At this point if you pass it out to everybody its just a participation trophy.

Does Grassland not have a middle school wrestling team?  I know they are a feeder school into Franklin High, but are not familiar enough to know what all sports in which they participate.

I was just saying Grassland has a smaller middle school team with less kids on it than the other two. I believe Mill Creek and Spring Station are two of the better middle school teams around the mid state for sure. Again all 3 candidates were very deserving this year,
