Man those kids are fun too watch, the hate is about to get more real

nobody "hates" cleveland. We're all very well aware they're the best in the state every year.

What we hate is this victim mentality that if they don't win an award the whole state is conspiring against them.

Nobody is playing the victim. Everybody knows OW is a popularity contest. It isn’t just against cleveland. But what I am saying is, in the last 10 years of which cleveland has won 8, I don’t believe they have ever had a OW. Like Cbg said until there’s actually a legit criteria we have nothing to go by. I’m not taking anything away from any other wrestler or team. I’m just saying as mentioned before. There are some schools, not only cleveland, that get the short end.

Every award should go to Cleveland.  Yes, we get it.  Thanks for educating us.

There is no doubt in my mind.  If those two great athletes switched uniforms and weights, you would be on here complaining, talking about level of competition much harder in one bracket over the other.

Before it was announced, I figured it came down to those two.  And if Cleveland would have won it, wouldn't have surprised me.  I would have been on here saying great season, and great tourney.  They are both outstanding and expect they will succeed on the next level.

So u think with cleveland winning both duals and traditionals, cleveland had equal opportunity to win OW as well?

Yes.  I see no evidence to the contrary and I do not believe the majority of coaches had those thoughts (I'm sure some did).  Your speculation on human nature is not infallible and your complete and utter belief on how others will act under a given circumstance doesn't count as evidence.

Everyone had equal opportunity and Sammy Shires walked away with that trophy, deservedly so.

you can’t say “nobody is playing the victim” and then say this. this post is literally you saying “we don’t have an equal opportunity, or people won’t vote for us, just cause we won everything together else and it’s not fair”. that’s literally by definition playing the victim.

what i don’t get is how someone can appear in the last 6 dual championships in a row, and 13 of the last 15…winning 5 in a row and 8 out of 10

plus 3 traditional championships in a row, and 7 out of the last 10….and still complain about not winning something. it’s truly baffling.

I’m pretty confident none of those stats are correct

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
