They get loud. I will say this. You got four classy programs going at it. If I wasn’t a GC Fan, I could be a fan of any of the three. I hope you guys have a safe trip. Will be a war.

Thanks, likewise!  Great people!  Safe travels to y'all too!  be ready for a crazy, packed tight, fun atmosphere at Summertown!

We are. GC gets loud too especially on the road. I expect both coaches will have sign language only it will be so loud. Y’all’s gym was crazy loud in January and y’all won pretty good. It will be loud in Westview too.

I.m thinking Westview wins, and it will not be that close. GC also gets Summertown.

If Loretto plays like they have the past month, your prediction will ring true.  If Loretto plays like they did the previous 3 months, WV will be upset.  Depends on if Loretto can overcome this lack of rhythm they've found themselves in.

GC vs Summertown will be a great game!

You must be a “plant”. Ain’t nobody in Martin feeling that way. It’s going to be a war and a close one. 2 powerhouse programs going at it, who could compete in all classifications.

Has y'all's gym ever sold out for a girls game?

We’ve had several standing room only games over the years. There should be plenty of room. I don’t know the actual capacity, but I believe it’d hold 3K if needed(at least). I don’t think this game will sell out, but they’ll be a good crowd. 2 other in-county schools are playing their sectional games as well, along with neighboring Mckenzie in Carroll County, or we’d have another few hundred or so show up for this one. A lot of other players from our neighboring towns usually come to our games when they’re not playing. We pull for them as well…..sort of like family up here (for the most part).

You are crazy if you say “it will not be that close”. I don’t see any chance of that being possible unless Loretto’s starters all foul out in the 1st quarter

I agree 110%. At one point in the season I was thinking Loretto might be the best team in the state regardless of class. I think they have went through a little lull, but any time you got Karly Weathers on the floor they have a shot. Same with Westview and Harrison. Both are phenomenal basketball players. If GC wasn’t playing, I would pay $100.00 to watch it. Maybe more. You don’t beat Oakland by 40 and not be great.

Karly Weathers vs Jada Harrison - I'll take Jada.

Louisville Cardinals say Jada is better.

Alabama says Karly's better, that tells me enough.

Home game for Westview - enough said.

I will take Westview in a close one.

I thought all year it was Loretto's year but they shouldn't have lost and had to come to Martin.  Now Westview is the favorite.

That comparison is so ignorant.  I wonder if you're drunk half the time you get on Coacht with some of these crazy posts you put on here.

Karly was also offered by TN as a freshman, Alabama wasn't her only offer (numerous major D1 offers)..  had she not committed over the summer, she'd be flooded with more.

Karly played against Tess & Chloe at state as a freshman and was the best player on the court.  Jada is a stud, no doubt.  Her ball handling is probably a tad better than Karly's, probably a tad quicker, but other than that Karly has been better at every other part of the game against as good or better competition.  I guess we'll find out Tomorrow.  Hope they both play to the best of their ability!  Gonna be an exciting game.

Two important things here. Westview and Haskins are a master at controlling tempo. They don’t turn the ball over much either. Every possession is important. Loretto’s length is also a factor. Gave Greenfield problems and us problems in the past. Hard to get three’s off with their length. Gave Greenfield major problems. Lots of three’s that usually aren’t contested become contested. Will be interesting to see if Loretto throws a press on Westview. Their length can cause lots of problems their too. Will be an interesting game. Both are great teams.

    • Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach.  There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now.  I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan.  Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there.  There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County.  Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first.  It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
    • This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
    • yeah money aint right there anymore
    • I suppose you are correct but from my understanding it was going to be a situation of the HC saying yay or nay to every play
