Congrats to Hampton. They were the better team. Best of luck the rest of the way.

Couldn't be there tonight but hoping they show up with their AAA+++ game tomorrow night...They'll need it

It's always a good day when I come back on here and DON'T have to eat crow.

Monday night, it almost seemed that neither NG or Hampton really cared if they won or lost. It was like they had both decided they'd get rolled by UH and have to play each other again tonight.

I believe Hampton could go on the road next Friday and give a good game to either Coalfield or Greenback. UH, though, is just playing on another planet right now. Their last 6 games, they've outscored their opposition 105-12.

They very well could. Coalfield squeaked one out tonight against Oneida to win the championship. Kid hit a walk off homerun to win it. Coalfield is going to be tough to beat with their ace on the mound. He sits low 80s on his fastball and has a pretty good curve to go with it. Their lineup is weak in the bottom. A good pitcher should get the 7,8,9 guys out every time if they’re throwing strikes. Greenback is very beatable. The way Oneida hit it tonight against coalfields 2 guy they will give Greenback problems Monday.

I'm assuming you'll be there tomorrow night?

After all these years, you really should come introduce yourself. I'd like to meet you as my T posting days are likely coming to a close

Region play starts tonight. Who you guys have advancing to a sectional game tonight? I’ve got University High, Hampton, Coalfield, and Greenback advancing tonight.

UH will name the score. Hampton and Coalfield will flirt with a run rule win. Now Greenback/Oneida has at least a chance of being an interesting game.

I figured Oakdale would play CF tough, they have that ability.GB made some costly errors in the infield that gave Oneida a 4 run lead quick but a good talking by the Coach and GB went on a nice run.Walked a couple Oneida runs in late but had the game in control. We can give anyone around here fits but the upper East teams are playing better than us down here.

Oakdale surprised people this year and was tough to beat with their ace on the mound. He’s just a sophomore and made a huge jump from his freshman year last year in terms of his velocity. They’re a young team with only graduating 1 player so I expect them to be in a region game again next year. Coalfield is going to be tough to beat Friday, but they are beatable. Should be a good game tomorrow for the region between them and Greenback.

First of all good luck to all the teams in single A  Regional championships tonight.  My son Zach Armstrong is a Single A baseball player for Coalfield and is up for prep xtra athlete of the week against some very talented athletes. Please consider giving him a vote!!

Looks like 2 sectional games are set for Friday. University High will host Greenback and Hampton travels to Coalfield. I’m going to say that both University High and Coalfield make it to Murfreesboro.

UH rolls. Hampton has a punchers chance Friday, even on the road.

I agree with you about UH. I’m going with Coalfield because they have returned pretty much every one off of their sectional team last year, so they have that experience in playing in this game and I believe with Hines on the mound this Friday they will pull it out but should be a fun game to watch.

    • Well, your Big Western Hunt better turn up some Zebras to come graze on the Stones to make the jungle gametime ready again and make sure the plumber bros. still will come service the facilities at the Mecca. I hope your weekend is Fowl. Tell Rip hello from the Five Oh. Maybe the Gravedigger will catch a ride with Alphaniner on a flyover soon to BNA.
    • It’s not hearsay, just patently false. As one of those young coaches he apparently “ran off”, coach never once ridiculed or degraded anyone. Sure he challenged kids and coached them very hard,  but we have different definitions of you call that degrading. Coach Hammontree changed my life when he gave me the chance to work for him. I learned more about being a man and caring for the people around me in 4 years working for him than I did in 20 years of my life. No one sacrificed more than he did. I left Heritage because I felt there would never be the support necessary to help the program succeed. I’m tired of hearing people drag others down especially those they truly don’t know. Coach has moved on and a new coach is there. Just let the man live and root for the team.
