By the looks of the crowds it looks like the 4 Classifications will Stay for a little while. Huge crowds on semifinals day. Most I’ve seen in several years.

From a Huntingdon fan I hope not lol.  It has been rough on us.  In all honesty I think the change has been good and have enjoyed the tougher schedule.  It has been a good change for west Tennessee teams like Westview, McKenzie, Gleason and Dresden, Scotts Hill, Riverside.  They definitely benefited from the four classes.

If stay w 4 ( and I’m for it) need to find way to get Memphis districts straightened out / can’t have teams like Summertown and  Loretto going to / or hosting teams like GC and Westview and letting far west Tn teams barely fielding teams - when’s the last time a Memphis team has fielded a competitive team in Girls basketball - softball Volleyball etc - if they don’t care why should TSSAA bow down to what they THINK they need

Agree. They forfeit a lot of their games. Insane for them to have 3 Districts.

What you 2 guys should do, and I'm very serious, is bring this to the attention of your state Representatives and state Senators.

The reason I mention this is you are knowledgeable and you live a whole lot closer to the Legislative Plaza (at least Jay does) than most people.

Chances are if you go via TSSAA, it won't do much good. Instead, if someone who represents your district(s) is made aware of something that needs to be improved, they might act on it.

Don't send your concerns by email or phone calls, send hard copy letters. These are more likely to receive responses.

I'll be glad to help, if there is a way to contact me back channel. If you are interested, I will gladly contact my state Senator in order to find out which committee is responsible for funding and see if he can help.

Don't know if I'll agree with that. 2020 was cancelled on Day 1 due to Covid, and last year was limited due to crowd and/or people still weren't comfortable with going to the state tournament. However, more teams = more fan$. It's simple.

4 classes are here for now, but we're going to have to deal with a 30 and a 40 point blow out in sub-state. I want to say over 46% of the regional semifinal games in both boys and girls, finished with a point differential of 15 points or more.

Football deals with the same thing but they aren't going to be moving down classes. Neither will basketball

I've been waiting on 4 classes in basketball/baseball/ext for a while, and I'm glad it's finally come to stay. Football would be perfectly fine with 5 classes. And Division 2 absolutely doesn't need 3 classes in football. 47 teams competing for 3 state championships is a joke. I mean in D2 AAA there's like what, 11 teams playing for a state championship? Ridiculous.

A small D2A football school would have zero chance to compete against an decent D2AA team. In D2, 3 classes definitely needed. To say we only need 2 classes for football is like saying D1 only needs 3 for football or 2 for basketball.

    • If someone needed their grades pumped up surley it would have to be for someone needing it to get to another level. If your intending on going to work right after high school it wouldn't matter. Why would someone in their right mind think if they screwed it up in high school that their ready for college. It has to be for an athlete to get them over the fence to get in and from that point the school their going to will cheat them through the rest of the way for their athletic skills just like the rest.
    • The new school will be on that road behind Home Depot next to a church. I'm wondering if this could take from Greenback or could it be the end of Greenback, they only have 200 students.
    • Yeah it will take the county kids in that area that were going to lenior city. They will move down to 4a I think
