You are correct!! I forgot about her. That's just one more in the arsenal. The one game they lost was to an extremely talented USJ team that has arguably the best middle school player in the state.

She is the best middle school player I’ve seen

If had to guess I would say South Side, Westview, McKenzie would all be in the talks again next season as well as a few others around West Tn.

Also, someone mentioned the kid at USJ. I wonder if she will play high school next season. She is pretty darn good.

Sure she will play. She won’t play Jr. High ball I wouldn’t think. She is probably an all state talent as an 8th grader.

Don’t think she will play middle school when parents are the high school coaches

Some of them do both, but will be USJ’s best player this year and no disrespect to others because they have some others that are good players. USJ with a lot of talent in normal years but with Webb School’s talent will be tough sledding but I am sure they will give it their best shot.

I highly doubt she will play middle school next season. I would be surprised if so! It's crazy she is just a 7th grader with the talent she has. However, her mom was a pretty spectacular player herself

In West TN it is going to be South Gibson and South Side with no question and no opposition. It will be them in their district championship, region championship and maybe for a state championship but I don't know the rest of the state enough to say that with confidence. Those 1st two are a done deal. especially if both teams stay healthy, and honestly, South Gibson may be the favorite. They didn't graduate anybody and their coach will be in her second year with a full off season.

    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
