Class A next year…

McKenzie has to be the favorite.  Savannah Davis is just a fabulous player and the Lady Rebels defensive pressure is quite a weapon as well.  With so many players returning, I expect McKenzie to be even better next year.

Dresden will be very good also as every member of the team returns including Lucy Curry who is very very good.

in talking with Wayne County folks at Murfreesboro, the Lady Cats have some really good young players and their fans expect them to remain a contender for awhile.

I don’t know how Gleason and Greenfield can remain as strong with the losses of Anderson and Darby.

And I’m sure there will be plenty of other contenders emerge

McKenzie and Wayne County are the favorites. If Wayne County learns to take care of the basketball they will be even better. McKenzie though I agree is the team to beat right now.

McKenzie does return all but one starter but that starter is a team leader in Dani Dyer.  Her leadership and ability to manage the game was huge several times this year for the Rebels. McKenzie will still search for the post player that has eluded us this year.  There is a rumor that one player who did not play this year is coming back for next year.  If this happens, add another forward into the mix who is really scrappy.

I like McKenzie to go Back to Back. Wayne Co. will be back. Greenfield's days are done. Dresden is an iffy thought. My dark horse is Trenton. They are small but have a knock down shooter and are one of the scrappiest bunch I have seen.

You have to think Pickett, Clay, RBS and Clarkrange will be competitive as well as maybe Cloudland from the East. Wayne County and McKenzie will be the heavy favorites I agree. You have to think Wayne County only lost by 3 or so and had 22 TO’s to McKenzie last season. They learn to handle the ball better they will be really good. Greenfield has a Cracker Jack player that will be an 8th grader this year that will probably start late next season. Their Jr. High is doing well and Chloe’s sisters will be there in 3-4 years. I agree they will have younger players, but it wouldn’t suprise me if they are still competitive.

The Pickett County girls were very young...starters: 2 freshman, 2 sophomores and a senior. They fell off late after beating 4A unbeaten Powell. The had earned the #2 ranking early, but they were young and didn't play well late in the season. They have some very talented eighth graders joining the team next season and should be very strong for the next several years. I think this group will bring home the school's 6th Gold Ball...many a couple more.

Where did the 8th graders go to middle school?  Cloudland has 8 jr high players joing the high school this summer.  This will be our biggest team in years

Bill Harlow: (from wiki) After leaving OSU, Harlow went on to win three national titles in freestyle wrestling.  He won a silver medal at the 1970 World Wrestling Championships, falling to Soviet Gennady Strakhov in the finals at 90 kg.

The only other Tennessee native I can remember competing for world team spots is the older Boykin in freestyle and he wasn't nearly as close as Nick has been to making world teams.
