Bill Price returns to Signal Mountain

I saw on Facebook where former state champion HC Bill Price is returning to SMHS as offensive/defensive line coach.

He's the guy that took a 4A school that was almost 5A and won the 2A state Championship.   There should be an * by that win in the record books.

And he was getting beat at halftime in that 2010 game by a team that had only 26 players on the entire roster including a bunch of 8th graders that were called up to varsity so there would be people on the sidelines besides the coaches.

I wasn’t aware of all of that. What I do remember is SM having to move up to 3A the next year, but opting instead to go to 4A. They made no excuses, they said the decision was made for one reason- Alcoa.

It wouldn't have mattered in 3a or 4a Signal wasn't competing with the likes of Alcoa in 3a or Greeneville & Fulton in 4a either.  SM played Greeneville in 13 & 14 losing 47-20 & 31-10.  They thought they could have beat Greeneville in 2010 when they won it all in 2a which wasn't happening.

....one of those pieces is said to b a very prized old bus with just a few seats on it that buzzed up and down those curvy roads  of North Red Bank Mountain back durin the Eaglets first beginnins and 1A haydays.....that bus went missin sumtime early spring 2011 from NRBM.....that same bus has apparently been purchased back by its original owner...
