Also, TSSAA rulebook says 20 mile radius. Maybe Lake Co. kids original home address was outside D'burg 20 mile radius, and they moved within it? Seems to me that something simpler(and easier to police) could be implemented...maybe they want a gray area so that they can decide on an individual basis and not be blatantly obvious.

I have seen many transfers transfer to different school zones within 12-15 miles. What is the 25 mile deal?? I remember a TCA student transferred to South Gibson and he had to sit out for whatever reason. Don’t think they moved either. It gets confusing for sure.

He probably met the 2o mile criteria. From city limit to city limit shows 18 miles.Could have moved 3 miles different direction in Dyersburg.Doubt TSSAA looked at it realky.Just that a move was made and it's fine.Ijust don't like the rule about letting a kid go to another county. Some will say a child has the right to a certain school.Yes they do.But I think if it's not for sports and for academics like they say,sit out freshman year.

I spoke with the athletic director at the school in which I am employed today and I spoke with someone else on the board of control for the TSSAA. They confirmed that the 20 mile rule is not public to public. It applies when one of the schools involved does not have a set zone like a private or a charter school. So for example if a kid goes to North Side as a sophomore they can’t go and play at USJ as a junior and vice versa. If it is public to public the kid must move from zone to zone or sit out a year.

Appreciate it. So basically impossible for a TCA athlete to go to USJ even with a move because of the mile radius??

Okay, so that's true. However, that's not the case with what's going on in Memphis between MAHS/MASE.

So in saying that.Cant wait to see Trenton vs Milan first week. Then 3rd week against the region champs..Stop Driggers is the key in my opinion.Think Trenton will try to run their backs maybe first couple downs. Then on 3rd down have Driggers go back to pass or run on 3rd down.Think it will be a pattern.Him try to scramble on 3rd down.If the Ends and corners not let him get outside and let him do what Corral ,of Ole Miss did to Tenn,I think Trenton suffers 2 losses..Even with all those beasts they say they have on the line. Two early losses..Firing shots .lol

Agree and y'all should

Did Gibson Co scrimmage anyone last Friday?  If so how did it go. If not, when was their last scrimmage.

Not that I know of. They scrimmaged Chester County last week and lost by a couple of scores I believe. Their new coach hadn’t been there too long. We will see how it goes.

Dyersburg will be tough. Peabody may have trouble with them. Don’t know yet. I will definitely be at the Peabody Milan game for sure.

I'm not sure about Dyersburg yet.Think they lost a lot and are young.A coach scrimmaged against them and said they were pretty good but thought Hunt was the best team at that scrimmage. But still with their enrollment, should have lots of talent.

    • Ouch! If he's in the scrap business maybe
    • That's a nice story but has little to nothing to do with what we're talking about.
    • The winds of change are blowing in Hartsville.     Will be an interesting follow.    Would go back to the 90s and turn black the clock!
    • Did he promise you a coordinator job or something if he ever got a head coaching job? He resigned? He was at the top of the dugout last night calling plays. I wonder if those 30+ parents would let him give their kids a ride. by the way the board meeting was last night and it was not mentioned. must have been at the work session earlier this week which is not public. must be trying to keep it quiet.  Since you know so much, how much is Robbie Atwood willing to pay Adam Cothron?  Didn't you slander Eden earlier on here? You also didn't know he was a faculty coach again so how much do you really know? Some people outside this county baffle me with their need to slander others.
    • He resigned smh, and have you ever heard of charged but not convicted. Some people in this county baffle me with their need to slander others. Have you asked any of the 30+ parents that signed a petition to get him reinstated at the board meeting this week how they feel about this? Just let it play out, at the end of the day the only people that will bring TC back are the ones that know what its about at its core.    People hate losing and they aren't used to it at TC. I for 1, and I'm sure others too, understand having a dip in talent and not being able to compete for a state title every year. But in the past, TC teams have outworked more talented teams, they didn't continuously lose the turnover battle, they didn't commit 8+ penalties in several games each season, and I believe several of the folks in town that want Blake out feel as if he is neglecting the history of the program. This is from a source that used to be extremely close to the program (not me lol), Blake gets out of school midday and the players show up and there is no practice plan or itinerary.  I also understand those that are on team Blake, when he has loads of talent, he wins. He does know football and he is a tremendous DC, and if the rumors are true then he will do great things. As for the board member issue, it is what it is, everyone that's true to the county know that and nothing has changed. I agree though that they should strive to make the facilities as good as we can. And as far as potential candidates, I agree there is very few options. West, Vetetoe (yes I know), and couple others that could have some interest. Whatever happens is massive for the program during a pivotal time before the next big wave of stars make their way through.
