I wonder what Region 2 has this year in 1A ? They have been down for a little bit they might have a tough 1 seed this year.

I'm thinking Oneida.  Not sure how many seniors sunbright and coalfield lost but Oneida is bringing in a great freshmen class.  They only lost by 5 to grandview middle for the state title.

Sunbright lost 7 or 8 seniors and their coach went back home to Scott High. Coalfield will return Alexis Morrison but I don't think they return a lot else. Oneida's probably gonna be the top seed out of that district, but don't be shocked if Wartburg is a dark horse. They have a lot of really good young talent. Not quite as good as Oneida, but they'll compete.

Yeah, Harriman had some good players last year, too. Not sure who they return, though, right off the bat.

From what I've seen so far Hampton might be #2 in the district but they are probably #2 in the regional as well. Good looking team right now.

Dobyns-Bennett girls will get to see Cloudland and Unaka in the Sullivan East tournament over Thanksgiving week.  I'm looking forward to seeing it 1-1A girls ball is pretty stout.

Yes it is.  Our jv went 10-3 in summer camps all against big schools

Looking ahead to the season I believe Hampton, Cloudland, and Unaka will be fighting for 1-3 and NG will end up being 4th. NG returns two good guards but lost a lot the last couple of years. They could sneak up on some teams and finish in the top but overall, I feel like the other three teams will be a little better. Should be a really exciting year in District 1A. Likely two teams representing at the state tourney if things go as planned.
