Knoxville area football

Now that all the jobs are filled and spring practice is done, what does the fall look like?

Is Farragut still the best in the west?  Fulton on the way back or does Central own North Knoxville 

Is Powell going to be a powerhouse again?  Can anyone stay in a game with them?

Is the pass happy Carter team the team to beat in the East? 

Private schools might be too soon to call, too many recruits in the transfer portal.

I could see the Knoxville area publics beating the daylights out of everybody from Chattanooga to the Tri-cities.    Then knock each other around in the playoffs until somebody is left standing for the title game.

Hold your horses now blazer1set. Central,Fulton, and SD didn't beat the daylights out of Greeneville last year, in fact it was the other way around.  Didn't play Carter but it would have been the same since they lost to Fulton 2 weeks before.

Very true but we are in a 5A/6A thread so that's what I meant.      In 4A yep Greeneville and Elizabethton are tops on this side of the state

Really need to wait until we see what happens in the transfer portal before making that prediction. Jearing the portal is quite active right now.

Coach Josh and Co at Bearden are not done with their crootin. Once all settles, expect state titles if they can find a QB. Those ones last year were… woof. Pun not intended.

Isn't this the 5A/6A thread?  

 

Farragut and Central will be okay, but not the best in the area.  Just like last year.

Yep it's the 5A/6A thread but these are Knoxville area schools, so it's a toss up whom you want to talk about. So I guess we can cut Hartleyrick some slack and talk about all of them. lol

To a lot of people the concept of "Knoxville area" encompasses Knox County and the counties it touches.   Like Blount (Maryville) and Anderson (Oak Ridge) as examples.      So yeah technically you are right, it always seems to get down to semantics.    This may help:      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knoxville_metropolitan_area

When was the last time a 5A semifinal was  a team other than one of the Knoxville Area 5A's?
