The former Greenback coach is one of a long list of candidates that have applied for this job. Several current sitting head coaches in the greater Knoxville area have applied. One in the Gatlinburg area is interested as well. Several current assistants from the area have applied to, but my sources say it will be someone that has been a head coach before or is a current head coach. Eagleton is ready to win very soon. This will be a good job. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

DC Riverside??Hmmm! Rumor or fact??

I literally went back months to find this comment. Is that normal to have brothers play at different schools? Just assuming they live together is it legal if ones not a private school? Or open enrollment comes into play?

No not the norm at all.im sure they pay the tuition to Maryville and sent the other to Eagleton so they wouldn't compete with each other also the youngest is  much better QB than the Elder. At this time Eagleton has the better chance at winning a title than Maryville with Oakland in the picture. Just an opinion not factual,so I may get corrected.

Will they have seniors next year? Not sure how many years they have been building this.

The only seniors they will have will be from SESI.

One last "in person" interview was held last week....

We will see. There were some outstanding name in the hat, but they (BCS) have whiffed before.

This hire has taken to long considering some of the names that have applied for it. Two years ago they had an assistant from William Blount take the first job as head coach then he bails on them 2 or 3 weeks before the season starts for an assistant position job at Maryville  Then they hire Shad back after finally leaving William Blount before he set the record for losses as head coach then he up and leaves for an assistant coaching job at Catholic. Now that's two coaches in a row that have left for assistant positions at other places but it amazes me how many big name coaches have applied for this job when two that have left will nevere see that chance again. One of those two could have built his reputation back at Eagleton but now he will be lucky if a midget league team would want him after he gets canned at the next job.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
